I was able to read this book, take some of the information I have learned (a whole lot so far because I haven't finished it), and express it to a doctor. I'm now receiving treatment and I feel more confident talking about the things I struggle with because this book just made everything *click* for me. Because of that, I was able to get on medication for treatment! With that being said, this book doesn't just focus on medication, therapy, etc. It also provides a lot of different tips, tools, ideas, etc that can help help with day to day life. This is great for those who don't have access to a doctor or certain resources to get a diagnosis and treatment. I believe everyone should have this book; teachers, doctors, therapists, parents, ADDers, employers! Seriously, this book is worth it. And if you have ADHD, share the information you learn with people in your life so they can better understand you. Women) *by L***A on February 9, 2021* It's incredible all the things you don't know about ADD and your own mind because most ADD knowledge is based on children (mostly white, mostly boys). What really struck me were the anecdotes from real adults with ADD—I couldn't believe there were so many people who experience the same strange behaviors and thoughts I do. Besides being validating, this book contains essential tips and tricks for working WITH your ADD brain (not against) that I haven't seen anywhere else—at least not written in such an easy-to-digest manner. If you have ADD you may be wary of buying a book as it can be difficult to get through. Luckily the way this one is structured makes it easy to pick up or drop off whenever you want.
