Unigear is Good Stuff
I hike at least twice a week and sometimes I do encounter muddy conditions. These gaiters are great during those times. I am a big (not obese) boy and have some very well developed calf muscles. The XL size fits me great. It's the nature of the beast but these take a little time to put on even after you have adjusted them which I recommend you do the night before their first use as it took some time for me to get them comfortable. They look very cool with their pseudo carbon fiber fabric which is tough as nails. They fabric itself is waterproof and cleans up in a snap. I thought the foot straps looked a little flimsy but they are just fine after some use on semi-rocky trails.Overall I have never been disappointed with Unigear products. They don't mind accommodating big guys, their gloves fit my abnormally huge hands as well. These gaiters are a great buy for the price.

Fantastic, keep my legs and feet dry!
These are fantastic, easy to put on and keep me dry. We got a record breaking 9 feet of snow in one week this winter and I wore these almost every day whenever I would go out. They keep all of the snow and water out from your ankles and thus your feet are dry. I don't know why some people say they don't hold up... I've worn these hiking, snow blowing, shoveling and walking all over the mountain. These will hold up for anyone other than perhaps a super hardcore mountain climber. Unless you're going up Everest I would recommend these for anyone else.

Value for money but not recommended for serious mountaineering application
I needed a quick pair of Gaiters for an upcoming last minute trip to mount Rainer. I was earlier thinking to rent one from the guides there who recommended Outdoor research gaiters but these costed the same as the rental so I decided to take the risk after reading through the favorable reviews. I had few expectations :-- Correct sizing to go over my mountaineering double layer plastic boots- lightweight and waterproof- tear resistant since I would be using cramponsFollowing are my observationsReviews suggested to go up one size but I did go over 2 just to be safe which worked. However I feel if I would have ordered just one size up that would have worked as well. I am 5'6 140 pounds athletic with proportional calves, ordered large(medium would have worked as well). These were light weight but felt flimsy straight out of the box.Coming to durability, these aren't meant for any serious use, just one day summit trip left these torn at multiple places. I would upload the pics soon. I feel these would work fine for light snowshoeing or fat biking but not for serious climbing adventure over multiple days. I would now need another pair as replacement since these are done.** if you found this review helpful then don't forget to vote 'Yes', it really helps me to be motivated and share more with the community **

Good product for the price
I am a snowmobile groomer driver, and use these to protect my socks and shoes as I get in and out of the groomer while on the trails. Such works makes heavy snowmobile type boots difficult to use.Place these over your favorite work boots, and you are protected. They do the job quite well, but I'm not sure gaiters are the answer for every snow situation. Sometimes, due to the nature of your activity, boots with high tops are in order. These are made reasonably well, have excellent Velcro side joints, and have a reasonable under-heel boot strap. You will need to open and undo the top clasp to get out of them, and rethread it when you put them back on.There is a small metal hook to grasp your shoe laces to keep them from riding up.Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase for the use I give them. The best thing is that they allow a smaller, light boot to be used and still get some protection from snow in your shoes and socks.

Run a little small
Appears to be a quality product at a great price. We did find that they run a little small. My measurements were towards the top of the range listed for a medium, but the actual fit was too tight, and I needed to return them and order a larger size. My advice, if you’re near the top of a size range, go up a size. My husband’s measurement was right in the middle of the extra large range, and his fit great. Will update review after we’ve had a chance to see how they perform.

Good for the money
Theses came fast ! If you’ve never used them look inside there’s a left and right . Lol ! Had them on wrong the first time . I use them for my new hobby of snowshoeing. Keeps snow out of my low top hiking shoes . That’s what I use regular Merrill’s . I use what I have . Works good so far . Keeps the snow out really good ! Wish I new about them years ago. . It hooks onto your front shoelace Velcro’s shit with a pull buckle just above my calf. Seems to be durable . I think it’s nylon so I sprayed it with some tent waterproof spray . I’ve bin dry every time so far !

Nice product - great value!
This is an Outdoor Research knockoff at a fraction of the price. It's my impression that the taper of these Unigear gaiters is not quite as nice and they share some of the quirks of the OR gaiters, like the front lace clip being on the side that goes on after (or over) the other, making it arguably a bit more secure but harder to get on. The closure tabs at the calf and instep are a bit long but easily cut back if persistently annoying.I have lived in heavy snow country most of my life and have owned quite a few pairs of gaiters over the years - I keep a pair in the mudroom and one in the car all winter long. Until recently, only OR manufactured a good pair and they priced them as one might expect. So I paid $98.95 for a pair of Goretex Expedition Crocodiles Gaiters just a few years ago. Sure, these aren't Goretex, but they look just as nice and are sturdily sewn. I love the price best of all.

Works somewhat
Item works somewhat. I purchased to protect my legs while using a weed trimmer. They do offer some protection, but I would not want to rely on them in heavy briars or against a snake bite. The bottom strap is trash, just go ahead and cut it off. The fit is fine and the Velcro does its job well. The top strap is also acceptable. Just make sure you are cinching it up under the knee not above the knee. Would I purchase again? Most likely not. I would look for something with a bit thicker material, that offers a more protection.

stiff may have to replace the straps
these work well for being in low brush also I wrap duct tape inside out around the tops to catch any ticks trying to crawl up my legs.

Quality
These were only used a couple of days & Stitching along Velcro came out on one pair, Stitching on strap holder let loose on the other pair. They did do what they were expected to do - keep the lower part of the leg dry and protected
