They need a better zipper. Sand rarely got in my shoes, i could wear them on rough terrain and they look almost like regular shoes. I LOVED these, but after wearing them only two times, the zipper on one split. Then the other one split. I just kept "fixing" the zipper ~ until today. The whole zipper came off one side of the pull, so I can't "fix" it anymore. Zippers aren't a good idea.I love them! They are comfortable and fit well. My only problem is the zippers keep opening from the bottom. Great value so I ordered a different pair later. I wanted them for working in the garden because sandals are too difficult for me to wear on the uneven and often mushy garden. My old "mudd crocks" finally fell apart. Too expensive to replace. The pair I purchased is camouflage. Nice fit, the upper is stretchy, the sole is flexible but firm grip. I initially found the back of the shoe that rests on my achilles tendon was too stiff and was not comfortable. However, I solved the problem by loosening the adjustable strap on the back and folding the stretchy upper down to a comfortable spot. This actually kept my heel from separating from the bottom of the shoe.
