I love these. I found similar ones first on Wayfair for double the price - after seeing these I couldn’t justify getting the latter. I am very happy with these!

There’s no question these placemats are natural. The jute is twisted into ropes woven into a circle. The fiber is coarse. They are clearly handcrafted — and less perfect than they look in the product image. I had to look up what jute is. It’s a vegetable fiber grown in tropical countries. It’s cheap to produce. It’s used to make ropes and coarse fabrics like burlap. Jute fibers are stronger than cotton fibers. So these placemats are thick and very sturdy. I like the fact that they are also soft and flexible. I like to heat up my plates, and when I put a red hot plate on one of these placemats, it’s easy to carry to carry the plate from the countertop to the table cradled in the placemat. The size of the placemats works very well with a standard dinner plate. The placemats do have a slight smell. My husband finds the smell hardly noticeable, inoffensive and very natural. But I’m somewhat bothered by it. This is the main drawback of these placemats for me.

Very nice, heavy, high quality mat. Perfect for a country look decor. Just the right size for a dinner plate. Just what I have been looking for.

Like the product but too small for my table. My napkin takes up most the placemat. I should of read the description better. If you have like a two person table small table probably would look better

Nice placemats I use to protect various surfaces from ceramic planters. Can't comment on heat durability.

I really like these. Super stylish. They do tend to shed a bit but nothing a vacuume can’t handle.

Using for crafts….haven’t started yet….so can’t really say how they would wrk for use a placemat

They are smaller than expected which was a bit disappointing as I can barely fit a plate in them.
