Ambient Weather WM-4 Handheld Weather Station w/Windspeed, Direction, Temperature, Humidity, Compass, Dew Point, Comfort Index, Psychrometer

This unit worked great right out of the package. The instructions do not amount to much however it's really not a problem for two reasons. #1 The unit is so user friendly, you really do not need the instructions. #2 You can go to the Ambient website, click on live chat, and talk to someone direct (had to do that only once so far). The only negative thing I can say about this purchase is that Amazon suggested buying the unit and the Kestrel case together. DON'T! The case is too short for this unit. It will be going back to Amazon tomorrow.

After many days of on-line research, I bought the Ambient Weather WM-4. The unit has a well designed protection case, the response time is very quick, the display is clear and the information is rapidly updated constantly. I also like the ease of battery replacement and the convenient trip-pod mount at the bottom of the unit. I just wish it is smaller. It is slightly too big for a true pocket size instrument. Overall, I love it and would recommend it to anyone.

A simple, small tool that provides you with the basic information that you need, especially when in the field. I use it when camping and hiking and find it very valuable.

Works great. The tripod fitting allows me to mount it in one position. I use it for target shooting. Very sensitive, accurate and reports every second.

Its very cheaply made (made in China so whats new). One issue is you have to click thru all the setting to get back to the temp reading. Temp-Temp Avg-Humidity-wind-wind avg-Temp. Its a pain to have to push the button thru all the menu to get to the beginning again. I was using on the beach to assess wind speed and someone thought I was spying on them. I use it for determining wind speed and direction when flying a drone, and the wind meter is just a piece of plastic that gets pushed by the wind. You have to position it into the wind to see the plastic piece direction. You could just hang a flag and get the same info. I would NOT recommend.

Is functional, but the overall perceived quality is not what I expected... in other words, I'm expecting this gadget to break any minute now.so far is working fine...

This anenometer is practically a weather station! It has so many features you're going to want to keep every last bit of the instructions that come with it. It is a well qualified product and for a moderate price. Everywhere else I looked for this product it cost a fortune and didn't have half as many features! Great product people!

Really good measurement device. 4 stars only because of the on/off function I do not understand: when you power the device off in a mode (for example actual wind speed mode), then it will power on in the next mode, and not in the last used mode. It is then tedious to get back to the initial mode, since you must pass through all the modes of the menu (10 or more).
