Review: Great product - Color is the exact match to described color. Coverage was consistent. Drying time as expected and setting was great. Always happy with Speedball for screenprinting
Review: Strong white pigment! Great consistency and quality! - I bought this ink to use with freezer paper stencils cut with my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine. I used it to make a shirt for my son's first birthday, white on navy blue. The white stayed bright and strong with only one coat! Very happy with the consistency and appearance of this ink on my dark shirt! I used a sponge brush to apply the ink with the stencil. Sometimes it felt like I was using a lot of ink, but it was likely because the sponge soaked it all up. Plus, I wanted the white to be good and heavy, so I didn't skimp. I should mention that I also purchased the black ink and it was actually the first of the two that I used. I'm pretty sure I read reviews that said to use gloves, but I forgot. The seal under the lid was very hard to get off, even with the tab that was there for that purpose. My thumb and fingers ended up covered in the ink after wrestling the seal off the container. Because it was black, it was easy to see the ink everywhere it ended up, on my body and work surfaces. I also wasn't as pleased with my final result with the black ink project I did but it was almost surely my fault because I was afraid to use too much so I probably didn't apply a heavy enough coat. I also used a cheap boys white undershirt that stretched a bunch and cracked the design before I could heat set it. I used gloves with the white ink and the seal on the white ink container came off with the tab the way it was supposed to. My experience was great! But it left me curious. I've done screen printing a few times (took a class in college for my graphic design curriculum) and I feel like using a screen vs the freezer paper would be a more economical use of this ink. It worked great for this project and probably for others I will do in the future, but it left me aching for the screen printing method and experience. In fact, I've looked at the screens and other products available through Speedball and I might be persuaded to shift my focus to using screens instead of freezer paper.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this ink consider plastisol or water based?**
A: This ink is water-based. Very easy to use in a paint-on-fabric application, which is how I use it.

**Q: Does it have to be heat set? If yes, do you have a fabric ink that does not have to be heat set?**
A: This is from Speedball's website and is their "Instructions" on Heat Setting:

"When printing on fabric, first make sure you are printing with inks
made for fabric printing. Other water-based inks will just wash
right out when put through the laundry. After printing on fabric
your ink will dry, but you still need to “cure” your ink to the fabric,
also known as heat setting. Speedball water-based fabric inks
can be cured by using a household iron. Check your iron settings
compared to the fabric you printed on. Use only fabrics that can
be subjected to temperatures of at least 275°-375° F. Do not use
nonporous fabrics such as nylon. Place a piece of paper (simple
copy paper is best) over top of your printed design and cure with
a hot iron for 1-2 minutes."

**Q: must this paint be mixed with any medium or can i use straight out the jar?**
A: It does not have to be mixed with any mediums unless you want to extend the paint or make it more transparent.

**Q: I want to paint stripes on cotton fabric for table runners and am wondering if it will bleed? I will be taping off the fabric and dont want bleeding.**
A: I would use contact paper if you do not want the lines to bleed. I use contact paper for stencils and the are crisp and sharp.
