FYI - alot of info on the web says this belt will fit all mtd/murray lawn mowers w/42 inch deck that were built during certain years. Well it didn't fit mine. Not seller's fault. Belt looks decent and price was good. Not to upset since I am hard on lawn tractors and chew them out every 2 or 3 years. Probably will get to use this built sooner or later, so no need to return. Best bet to determine if you have the right belt is to check owner's manual for part number. As in my case, if you don't have a copy of the owner's manual, you can get them from manufacter's website.

For years I have been trying to get the properly sized belt for my ancient Bolens Lawn tractor. Unsuccessful purchases were a tiny bit too long. Even though the Murray belt was the same size, it fits perfectly and I could not be happier. I love that the site listed its EXACT measurements, indicating that it was actually a few sixteenths smaller which made it the one I have needed for a long time.

Good belt - installed on 2002-era 40" Murray Select rider; a pain to install the drive belt but worth it - I actually had the original belt (over 10 years old) on it - but it was slipping. New belt fit and works perfectly. Ditto the comment that there is no indication on the packaging that there is Kevlar involved anywhere - but the belt compound is clearly different than the compound of my original belt. I'll update if it does not last as expected - which, theoretically, should be another decade...
