Many a trash can has taken a spin in my small, galley, NYC kitchen.In my journey, it's been a challenge to find a handsome, small footprint garbage can which is both sturdy and can fit non brand specific kitchen trash bags. Beyond these common issues, I do not want to spend hundreds of dollars for a gorgeous stainless steel receptacle which eventually lets you down with technical issues such as broken springs, foot pedals or a lid that "dips" into your garbage.This Rubbermaid Touch Top Lid Trash Can in White has far exceeded my expectations and even my first impression bias. I love the fresh, bright, white color which is easy to keep "brand new" clean and makes my kitchen look even whiter. It is very sturdy to the point I used the lid as the table top to wipes down my goods upon arriving home during quarantine.The top of the can is larger than the base which initially made me think it was not what I was looking for. Now I love the wide mouth which easily catches all refuse during cooking and makes good use of trash bags, packing every square inch before it's time to take out the trash. My two favorite aspects of this lovely product is that it fits Costco Kirkland brand kitchen trash bags and the price of the trash can itself. For less than $30 it has been faithfully servicing my household well over a year and I expect it to be around for years to come.I have seen several reviews here which speak of how the can lid will not stay closed. Know that when the lid is open you will see two "wings" around the top interior of the can. These are to hold the garbage bag in place. Depending on the circumference of bag you are using the fit may be tight which makes the "wings" rise when first replacing the bag. These raised wings initially may make the lid "pop" open. This is quickly rectified by throwing away your first piece of garbage, the weight of an apple or heavier, as this weight in the bag than pulls down the "wings". Other than this issue, which only occurs when first installing a new trash bag, the lid is tight and secure.Practical and on-trend, this is a very rewarding purchase which I recommend highly

I got this and hoped that the lid would stay on and it does (Well, The left and right sides don't seal correctly but it looks shut but not all the way, you notice it more on the right side, you just have to lock it in place and it's very easy to put it on, you hear it snap.super easy to put a garbage can inside it with the arms that hold it in place.

I like the garbage can but sometimes when you close the lid it pops back up and then you close it again and it still pops up that can happen up to 3 or 4 or sometimes maybe even a fifth time then sometimes you can get lucky and the lids close the on the 1st time. But I still like it.

This is a perfect kitchen garbage can for my needs. It is so easy to open and close and just the right compact size for the area but holds a lot of garbage. It is sleek looking and doesn't draw attention, so my kitchen area looks nice.

I bought this Rubbermaid Touch-Top trash can on January 6, 2024 because it was the right size and I thought Rubbermaid was a good company.It came with no instructions about where or how to touch the top to open the lid. I emailed Rubbermaid. I thought it was a simple question.It took 7 weeks, multiple emails and 2 very negative reviews submitted to Rubbermaid's website (which they refused to post), but I finally received this photo and written instructions to open it.Never again, Rubbermaid

Similar to some of the other reviews I read before purchasing, the lid on my trashcan flies up at the slightest touch. It started off strong, but with repeated use (I’ve only had it for a few months) the lid now too easily becomes detached from the piece that holds it in place. It’s frustrating and a new trashcan will be my next purchase. I was really hoping that with gentle care, I could have avoided this problem mentioned in other reviews, but it goes to show that there is a serious problem with the craftsmanship. Ill likely put this one outside and use for recyclables. The size is great, and I like how it conceals the trash bag, but the lid issue is a real problem.

I love this for my pool area. It has a bag holder clip to keep your bags so they don’t cave in on you and push button to open it so animals can’t get in it.

Like this trash receptacle, very much. Easy to use. I have it in my kitchen, packs slot of punch. Bought almost 14 gallon size trash bags. Fits perfectly. Love the one touch lid opener. Easy to clean!

This wastebasket is just what I was looking for. Convenient spring lock lid. Paired it with a recycle bin.

Je suis en amour avec ma poubelle..........tellement facile à nettoyé et en plus tellement mais tellement facile d'utilisation. Avec un seul doigt je peux ouvrir le couvercle avec la clenche.

Does the job and looks good (unassumingly blends in). As for durability, have to trust the brand - just 'installed' recently.

Not worth the wait of a month and the plastic quality.
