Singing bowl type Khopre 500 g – 550 g, diameter 17.5 cm – 19 cm, h 8.5 cm – 9.5 cm, ring cushion diameter 14 cm strike rod with felt cover 20 cm. The most beautiful sound is created by gentle striking, which works best with a soft textile tape bonded grating rod, a felt striker or a felt mallet. When shopping, we place the highest value on a particularly beautiful sound. Sometimes the optical appearance of the shell is suboptimal (see some photos) but it is damaged, thanks to excellent sound properties. Originally the Himalaya singing bowls were used as everyday crockery. Previously, blacksmiths were travelling in the Himalayas, who forged the local people the necessary used tableware (singing bowls). The beautiful sound may come from the knowledge of harmonising the individual metals (which as well as in the alchemy different aspects and elements). A harmony of the different elements was achieved when the alloy produces a beautiful sound when hitting. This corresponds to the ideal image of the Buddhist teachings of balance and harmony. We know nothing comparable that it allows us to experience sound in this form, like by placing or holding a hit Himalayan singing bowl. Handmade and hammered singing bowls are unique, depending on the thick wall and size, highly sensitive, they react to air pressure, humidity, temperature and fine, but you should find out yourself. Buddhapur singing bowls are tested by us. With our BUDDHAPUR brand, customers can distinguish between our singing bowls and those of the cheap manufacturers from India who relate to our articles. Please note that you have to pay for customs and VAT when buying third-party suppliers after arrival in Germany, our Buddhapur singing bowls are already controlled and duty.

My first hand hammered bowl
This is only my second singing bowl and my first hand hammered bowl, so bear that in mind when considering my opinion. There's certainly a distinctive difference in sound between a machine made (my first singing bowl) and hand hammered bowl, although I would say both produce beautiful tones. It is trickier to play the bowl running the striker around the rim than a machine made bowl, you need to pay far more attention to what the bowl is telling you and adjust your speed and pressure to that, which I would argue is a fantastic experience. For the price you pay I think this is definitely a good and fair deal. I have shopped around to gather prices and it seems to me that if you want the most amazing bowl you will have to pay the money for that, so this bowl at its price is worth it - you get a solid 'good' across the board, hence my rating. The bowl sings for at least 45 seconds by my count and the sound pulses as one would hope, with variety to the tone.Unfortunately I don't have the ability to advise on the exact note the bowl produces, nor can I pass an opinion on the thickness of the walls as I have nothing to compare to or the experience and knowledge.
