Love These Speakers!!!
I knew I had made a smart investment when the stereo installers were telling me how great these speakers were even before they removed them from the box. Once they were installed you could tell the difference right away! The clarity and crisp sound of these speakers is amazing. The price I paid was a very good price for such a great speaker. I'm very pleased with my investment. If anyone is looking for a good quality 6.5" speaker, this is it!

Best entry level components I have ever owned
I've always been a big audio nut, especially on the SQ side. This is my first time trying out Focal. A good friend of mine at the local Car Audio place sells them like hotcakes, so I thought I'd give them a try. I'm only running the entry level ones, and I'm most impressed by the midbass. They receive 75watts RMS, and I can feel the bass hitting next to my legs.. They will stay clean as loud as your ears can handle it, and the tweeters are very bright. I opted to put them in the pillars for a better soundstage, and I usually just like my tweets up high anyway.. With the tweets in the pillars, I'm running the crossovers at -3db, just to tone them down a little.I currently own 3 cars with very expensive stereo systems, and these Focals are my favorites.. They are so rich and smooth, and they bump with such little power put to them.

High End For The Low Low
I auditioned just about everything from Infinity Kappa, R. Fosgate, JL Audio, Hertz, Raindow. Diamond Audio..... and nothing had the clean, crisp highs AND powerful mid-bass like these speakers for the price. Sure you spend $500, but it's really not necessary. The only possible draw back is that they are listed @ 60W RMS (they are a bit under rated and can handle more power). I cannot believe how great and balanced they sound. I will never buy another brand of component speakers. Worth every penny. I also suggest buying them from Woofers Etc. Great customer service and they sold them for almost 1/3 the price that I could get them @ a retail store.

Very good
These are very good speakers, and for the $139 I paid, they are great. However, having heard many Focal home and car speakers when I was heavily into audio a decade ago, I am a bit disappointed. I was hoping for "great" without regard to price. That is probably unfair, and since I have not auditioned any other speakers in my current car, I don't have anything to compare them to except the horrid stock units. Frequency response, clarity, and sensitivity (how loud it gets for a given amount of power) are all excellent. Imaging is poor, but that could easily be due to the fact that the tweeters are in the sail panels, a foot and a half from the woofers with the dashboard in between them. I have certainly never heard another set of car speakers in this price range that sounded better. I am also quite pleasantly surprised at how small they are, especially their mounting depth and the tweeter's size over all. In a couple (time and money allowing) of months, I will try using active crossovers and time-alignment to see if I can improve the sound even more. If I remember, I'll update my review at that time.

Mixed feelings.... Sound great, but tweeters are too sharp.
I spent a lot of time researching these speakers, and most of the reviews were very positive. There was some mention of the tweeters being a little harsh, but most commented on how clear and good these speakers sound. So decided to take a chance and order a set, hoping the few comments about harshness were just picky reviewers. But I wish I would've listened to them...Once I get them and open the box, the speakers look fantastic. They appear to be VERY well made. And the crossovers look great! It's a shame to hide them behind kick panels. In fact, I wish I could install the whole speaker set so they could be seen! VERY NICE!!But after installing them, and listening to them, the "S" sounds from the tweeters feel like razors to my ears! VERY sharp!! Holy LORD talk about an offensive assault on a person's hearing! I tried the tweeter decibel adjustment on the crossover at 0, -3, and -6. I left them at -3, which seems to be a compromise, lessening the sharpness somewhat, and losing some of the bright, crystal clear highs. At -6, the highs seems almost subdued. At 0, they'll slice your eardrums open. I'm a little disappointed about this. I have an older pair of Diamond Audio components in the closet. I'm tempted to try those tweeters. Maybe next weekend....As for the mids and lows, these speakers are very clear, and sound GREAT. They have a nice bottom end, plenty for someone not looking for subwoofer thump, but good clean bass. Singing voices and acoustic guitar sound really nice. I really like the mids & lows. So, like the title says, I have mixed feelings about these speakers. The mids and lows sound fantastic, and they are very clear. However, I wish I would've paid more attention to the few reviews mentioning the harshness of the tweeters, although I think sharpness is a more accurate description, as they are crystal clear. If I could've heard these speakers before purchase, I wouldn't have bought them because of that.UPDATE: It's been a couple of weeks and I'm just not warming up to these speakers. I was hoping as time went by they would sound better, or I would get used to them but just the opposite. The more I listen, the less I like them. It's pouring rain or I would've replaced the tweeters today.

FOCAL is the Best!
I was contemplating on what kind of speakers I wanted in my car when I heard these at Stereo West Auto Toys. First time I heard these speakers, I was blown away. Even the cheapest pair sounded amazing. I immediately ordered me a pair. I'm picky about how my music sounds, but I'm also picky on the price. I found these here for $100 cheaper than what SWAT was trying to sell me. I can say that you will not be disappointed. I can turn these babies up with no distortion. Running them off a Kicker ZX700.5 amp, with a 10" Addictive Audio sub in ported box which sounds like a 12". Plan to upgrade the stock speakers in the rear doors to Focal too.
