I think everyone over 70 should have a system like this!
I got this for my mother in law. The instructions were easy to understand & can also be found online. I made a copy & put one with the base unit & the other I kept in the box. You can program up to 3 phone numbers. If I remember correctly, the manual said some people program 911 into the system. You can reprogram the numbers at anytime. You have to record your own 6 second message. I used something like, "This is Jane's emergency call system. Press any number to start a conversation." It takes a few seconds to start the dialing process. It takes a little bit to hang up the line. I works well inside the house. It also works well outside on the front & back porch. We've had a few false alarms when she wore the pendant while sleeping. The button is sensitive enough that she has rolled over on it & set it off. Now she hangs it from the headboard. She has also bumped the wrist button while doing things. Overall, I am happy with the unit after a month of use. It's nice not having to pay a monthly fee & still have the security of her always having access to a one button alert. I was a paramedic for over 30 years. I can tell you that these systems help save lives and also prevent needless suffering of a loved one lying on the floor for hours. I think everyone over 70 should have a system like this in the house. You wouldn't believe how many broken hips I've been on & the person had to painfully drag themselves to the phone.

Life Saver
We purchased this device to see how it would work for our mother. Within the first 2 days of install she was able to press the button after a fall and connect right to us. The system was fairly easy to setup with our phone numbers. It did take some time to figure it out but it works perfectly well. I programmed an emergency message so my siblings and I know when we need to get over to their home. You might have to wait a few seconds for the message to play so you can press a button to connect. It allows for 2 way communication to the home with just a press of the emergency button. What an amazing tool to have. No monthly fee required. Highly recommend!!!!

Better than nothing
I am glad I bought this product for my mother. She doesn't mind wearing it (much to my surprise). I tested it under a variety of conditions (to mobile phones and land lines, to answering machines, etc.) and it mostly works. However, the feature that allows the person receiving the help call to push a number and talk to the person needing help does not function when the receiving person is using a mobile phone (which for us is the preferred situation). Also, this machine is not very smart. When the help button is pushed it starts outputting the recorded help message over and over again on a fixed time period. If the person answering the phone call happens to pick up the phone during the pause between the fixed period of the message, they will only hear hissing until the message time comes around again. If they pick up in the middle of the message, they will only hear the second half of the message until it repeats after its fixed delay. It would be easy to confuse this with the non-stop robo-marketing calls we receive every day (can't we stop those guys?). One last negative - the product styling is amazingly low in this age of Apple products. The designers apparently still live in the 60's. The plastic moldings are adequate, but not of high quality. Still, it is better than nothing, and I couldn't find anything better. It is better than nothing and it may well help my mother if she should fall. At least, we all feel better that she has it.

Easy Setup
We got this for my Mother In Law who lives alone and asked for some sort of "Alert" that she could wear on her wrist. I liked that it came with watch like band and the option for a necklace. I also like that you can program 3 phone numbers into it for it to call when alarm is set. She was happy with it. I like that when the alarm is hit you can still "talk" to her after it calls you through the main device. It would be important to put that in a central location so that if someone has fallen you can hear them talking. The self recording part is definitely not the best quality but a simple " Call Mom" was relatively clear when alarm triggered and call made to my Husband. It does the job we need it to do.

Good unit in theory
I bought this for my mother. I like that I can talk to her through the base. However the button on the pendant is EXTREMELY sensitive and just the movement of her clothes sets it off. They did give me directions for decreasing the sensitivity on the pendant but it still gets pushed when she simply moves. Their ultimate fix? Put electrical tape over the button! The other issue, she is unable to turn it off when it is accidentally pushed. How crazy is that? I am greatly bothered by the fact that they are aware of the hypersensitivity of the button and choose to ignore the problem rather than simply change the sensitivity in the factory or simply put a sliding cover over the button like other companies do. I would not recommend this dialer and regret buying it. I had a less expensive one that wore out after years of use. I may choose to replace this dialer with the less expensive one I have had in the past. Update, I tried the electrical tape fix and guess what? Still getting accidental activation's! They need to fix the pendant or it is just simply a waste of your money to purchase this unit!

Perfect for a senior living alone!
We got this for my grandfather who's in his 90s. He's stubborn and won't accept his kids taking care of him but accepted wearing this button as a compromise after he fell and couldn't get up for hours. It requires a land line to function, which is its biggest drawback. It's nice that it calls up to 3 different family members l, moving on to the next one if the current one doesn't pick up. Another annoyance is that he can only talk through it if he's near the phone, which is in the kitchen, meaning many times he pushes it and noone knows how serious it is. He pushes it when he gets lonely or scared sometimes. Things that could be handled by talking him down now require someone to drive over to him. But it's well worth the peace of mind that he's able to get help when he needs it.

I'd buy it again.
It's a little easy to push the alarm button on the wrist worn one by bumping it on something, but you wouldn't want to make it harder to push. It's easy to set up, and I like that you don't have to pay for a service. Mom wouldn't like to have a stranger from a service calling to check on her for a false alarm. I set up wifi cameras in her house so if she doesn't answer the machine or phone I can check on her from my phone.

Very good to aid the elderly
Bought this for my mother the pack comes with two devices a necklace and a watch. She wears the necklace and her husband wears the watch. They are elderly age 87. With this device you program 3 phone numbers that all get called upon pushing the button on their end. We decided against 911 so we can decide the emergency once they call we can push any number on our cell phone to two way talk with them. My mother accidentally held a plate to close to her while walking to her kitchen table which activated a false alarm so I advise the necklace button to be facing toward your body.
