Wicked Sander
If your new to the festool game. I think this is probably the most worth it product. Sure the systainers are awesome, but this sanders ability to also grind is pretty wicked.

amazing sander!
was using a 5" rigid orbital sander for sanding tabletops and furniture. Took forever to sand that waythis sander is incredible. sucks up all the dust when using festool discs, but you can use other discs but will get a lot of dust because the dust holes of the sanding pad don't line up. festool discs have their own proprietary holes in them.its like having a belt drive sander and orbital in one, except you won't get the deep lines or "track" when you use a belt drive.i bought a soft pad as well and can't say enough about this sander. its one of the most used tools i have and totally worth the extra price. well built, well thought out and makes sanding way less painful and done in a fraction of the time it used to take me

Great sander
I am a paint contractor, I paint a lot of old wooden houses and I bought this Rotex 125 along with the MIDI vacuum. This thing is a very aggressive sander when you need it to be and can finish sand with the best of them. When it is in Rotex mode it eats through old paint like butter. You need to be very careful or it will damage the wood or make it "wavy" but for feather sanding old scraped houses it works very well. I have used it to strip old varnish and paint off of doors and trim too with good results as long as you use the right grit paper to not damage the wood. It is also incredible how much dust gets taken away with the vac, I have sanded in houses with very little worry of dust flying around although I still take precautions. All in all this is a great tool.

Very happy
I am a hobby woodworker and spend a lot of time using sanders. I had a random orbit sander and a belt sander that were decent, but decided to invest in a top quality sander. I have shied away from Festool products because of the pricing but decided to try the Festool Rotex 125. I've had it about a week and am so glad I purchased one. This tool is a machine when it comes to sanding and is everything I needed in a sander, all in one. BTW, this is not a "sponsored" review, I paid full price and have no relationship with Festool. The aggressive sanding mode takes off wood like a charm and the random orbit sanding mode works better than any similar type sander I've used in 10 or so years of woodworking. Although expensive, this sander is a game changing tool in my shop and makes me a much better woodworker.

My second one
Very expensive and worth every penny. I don't say that for all of the Festool products that I have purchased, but this sander is a great one. A true large step above any other that I have ever used including the Mirka. The Mirka is nice and light and low vibration but takes longer to do the same amount of sanding. And the Mirka is the only one that is close, any of the other brands (and I have had most over the years) don't even compare at all. The Festool has two settings, one is more aggressive for fast sanding of uneven surfaces the other is for the finer sanding. Great dust collection and their sandpaper is also excellent. Be prepared to spend lots of money on the sander and the sandpaper, but worth it in my opinion. A great time saver so less chance of carpel tunnel syndrome. When doing a lot of sanding always wear gel insert gloves no matter what sander you use, vibration causes the inflammation that leads to surgery. I had it done on my right hand before I bought my first Festool sander almost 10 years ago, no problems since.

Well Worth the Price
The dual speed "Rotex" control is very effective. The final finish is outstanding with the use of the proper sanding disk. It achieves a finish close to a "wet" sand finish with very fine abrasive. I was skeptical when I first read about the Rotex sander but am more than pleased with its performance so far. I have been using Bosch sanders for years and find the Festool a notch above although I still use Bosch products for various applications. The sanding disks are very durable and outlast many I've used previously. I would certainly recommend this product.

Good, but jumpy.
The EQ125 is my third tool from Festool. I have the Kapex miter saw and the 1400 Router. The saw and router have been way beyond my expectations in terms of accuracy, smoothness, power, and features. Those things are just great and worth every dime I spent.I got my new sander on Friday and could hardly wait for the weekend to give it a try. It lived up to my expectations as far as being a well thought-out design. A tool-free way to remove the sanding pad...which is great since it also has available a selection of sanding pads with variable hardness for use based on the job at hand. Very smooth and vibration free. Two different sanding actions, one for rapid removal and one for service preparation. I don't like the unique hole pattern of their sanding pads: the Festool abrasives are superior and probably cost effective, but you HAVE TO use them if you plan on dust extraction. By the way, the dust extraction is excellent.I have used both Dewalt and Milwaukee ROS for years, the Dewalt being my favorite. But as the on/off switch began giving me trouble after a very long service life, I decided to make the leap up to Festool. Here's the problem: I'm having controlling it, even when it's on the 'finish' sanding mode. The darn thing jumps all over the place during use. I used to be able to sit down and just glide my DeWalt over the surface, but the Festool requires a firm two hand grip to make sure it goes where I want it to.I have trouble believing it is operator error. I'm very disappointed.
