i got the giant container because i constantly make fries chicken and homemade sauces, this is just a very affordable way to add freshness to anything that needs heat.

I was looking for something with a LOT of heat...This wasn't it BUT it is still an excellent Fresh Ground Chili paste with a Bright Red color! The lid was intact with absolutely NO Spillage and It has GREAT Flavor! I thought that with the large Gallon size would last me a while and I wouldn't run out of it but as much as I've come to Love this Product, it won't be long before I have to order another one. You can use it on scrambled eggs/ hot dogs/noodles/pretty much anything (I haven't done it yet but have started wondering what it would taste like on Vanilla Ice Cream, LOL!).

First and foremost, I could drink this stuff. With its medium spice and slightly salty tang, it truly goes well with a huge variety of foods. (I prefer it on white rice ... I also really like to mix it with some light soy sauce for a spring roll dip. But I've used it on everything from eggs to smoked sausage.) For whatever reason — and the word on the street was "two bad crops in a row" — this, along with the sriracha from Huy Fong Foods — disappeared from grocery store shelves between late 2021 and late 2023. I tried other brands that paled in comparison. I tried to make my own to no flavorful avail. I also tried to convince myself that chili crisp was a viable substitute. Chili crisp is wonderful, but nope. This review, in addition to serving as my full endorsement for this delectable condiment, equally serves as a testament to my integrity. ;-) I seriously considered leaving negative comments to discourage others from buying the remaining stock. But a little voice told me to do otherwise.

Had to buy in bulk when they stopped selling it at our local Chinese restaurant. The taste and quality are amazing, you can definitely tell off brands of this. Hint of spice full of flavor

I have been using Huy Fong Sambal Oelek as a condiment on a variety of foods for many years. The chili paste is very straightforward in its list of ingredients (chili, salt, vinegar, and preservatives) and adds heat and spice to foods. I use it on eggs, spaghetti sauce, ramen noodles, and any number of dishes and enjoy the tart "kick" it adds to food. I had been able to purchase the 18 ounce size at my local Walmart until the past year or so, but it is no longer available. I was thrilled to find that Amazon carries Huy Fong Sambal Oelek in this 136-ounce size at a very competitive price. This is my second such order from Amazon, the first lasting nearly a year. The large, heavy-duty clear plastic container arrived sealed with a September 2025 Best By date (purchased January 2024). For convenience, I pour the Sambal Oelek into an empty 18-ounce jar for daily use and refill it as needed, which is made easier by the handle incorporated into the larger container and generous pouring spout. I love the spice and heat it gives food and award Huy Fong Sambal Oelek 5 stars, along with my recommendation.

Red Hot, Cholula, Tabasco, Sriracha move aside! If you love Sambal Oelek already, this is for you! Fast ship, arrived early and spill-free. As a plus it’s free of added sugar. We’ve had a shortage in Sambal Oelek in the Hawaiian Islands for 2-3 years (checked Maui, Kauai, Hawaii, and Oahu), so I sprung to buy this at $24.00. I’ve been watching price has fluctuated between $22-56 for past 5 months and I had it in my cart for $56 before Thanksgiving. Glad I waited on this one because now I can get two for the price of one! I divyed it up into smaller airtight containers because the taste changes slightly when oxidized even if refrigerated. My favorite with eggs, pancit, fried rice, and lumpia. I’m in love with hot again 😍 This product gets 5 full stars. Edit: Took off one star because seller reaches out via both Amazon and personal email linked to Amazon account for feedback. Find this irritating when Amazon sellers solicit feedback. Miss the days of providing community feedback for the purpose of helping each other. Probably should have signed onto Prime with my spam email. I am relieved every product I buy on Amazon doesn’t clog my inbox with feedback requests.
