Personal PA System That is Excellent and Affordable!
I've recently started taking voice/stage lessons and I wanted to have a basic PA setup for practicing at home. Having your guitar and voice amplified allows you to practice in a way that is more like what you experience on stage! So I began researching what are sometimes referred to as "Personal PAs". I wanted something small, compact and simple to set up. And I wanted decent sound with some respectable volume. After rejecting more expensive solutions and also those that contained multiple components (amp, speakers, etc.) I decided to purchase the Behringer B205D. I love this PA!! 5 stars all the way! If your needs are like mine you will love this unit. I won't list all the features as they are described on this page and the other reviews provide lots of this discussion as well. But I will say I have successfully performed in class using a mic and my guitar plugged in. The sound was clean and nice and loud! The unit is super easy to carry around and set up in case you want to do more than practice at home. Next week I will be using this at an open mic at a local pub. Also worth noting is the seller I dealt with was simply outstanding! They are US Sound & Light (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aag/main?ie=UTF8&isAmazonFulfilled=0&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&isCBA=&seller=A2I3KI79ZQR6C). I had problems with my first unit and they exchanged it for me and even reimbursed me for the return shipping when Amazon would not! This is a very high-quality company to do business with and I highly recommend purchasing from them whenever possible!! Just a few more things worth mentioning. First, as I researched this online it appears Behringer has a bit of a reputation for producing "knock-offs" of other products. In this case, it certainly appears this unit is very similar to the Mackie SRM150 (which is more than $100 more expensive). I have no idea if the overall quality of these two units is comparable but interesting to know this anyway. Second, my initial unit was defective. It could only handle the volume being turned up to about 35% before the amp starting "cutting out". I sent it back and got another one from the seller. The second unit was better but it had some annoying vibrations/buzzing when you would hit certain notes. In this case however, I was able to fix it myself by partially disassembling the unit, adding a paper gasket and tightening several loose screws. It was easy to do and now I'm confident if any vibrations recur I can fix them myself. This experience of "two-in-a-row" with problems makes it a little harder for me to recommend this without reservations, however, I am so happy with the unit now that I could not honestly give it less than 5 stars! Finally, as I am getting used to this unit I am already seeing some possible limitations. This is not the product's fault but something you may wish to consider as you decide if this unit is for you. I am thinking 2 inputs is not enough. As long as its just you and your guitar (or uke or banjo or whatever) this unit works great. But as soon as you want to do a duet you'll need something more because you only have the two inputs. I'd love to see this unit in a version offering four inputs with two of them set up to handle either guitar or mic. And I'd love to have EQ for each individual input rather than for the mixed signal. Yeah, I know I'm talking about a more advanced unit but you should consider these factors when you make your decision. All in all, I am very happy with this PA!

Juciest Super Bang for my Buck
I do presentations a lot and other times need a mini combo to hook an instrument and just enjoy, I did a little bit of research online but found two products that could meet this need, one was the fender and the other was this behringer eurolive B205D, I decided to go for this because it was about half the cost and I felt it's also a good brand. I must state categorically that this was the best sub $200 I spent in 2010. My God, this stuff blows me sky high, men it has the juciest, cleanest, punchiest power of any mini combo that I have even seen. It compares even to my Boss Speakers in output quality. I used it with a wireless microphone for presentations and the audio quality is the best I have ever heard my self. I hooked it up with my iPod and it's like i had a gig ready to go, I even hooked it up also with my musical instrument and the sound was even better. The sound also is so loaded with sweetness at times I wonder how such high decibels can be bursting forth from such a small device. The housing also is so good it looks like what will bounce around with no fear of damage for many years to come. Also the item just weighs at a basic 3.2kilos, you can even carry it with you anywhere and no one will even know you are carrying anything of such. The other reviewer said something about distorts when the volume exceeds the middle, I think he needs to check his hardware properly because this stuff does not distort the sounds in anyway that I have seen even though I do not raise the volume knob too high because the sound may become unbearably loud as neighbors may begin to complain. Everyone who has seen it in action all want to buy it off me right away or want to order theirs immediately. It will be also a fun tool for the kids and family in general without the fear of the youger ones spoiling it or swallowing any small parts. It's perfect for what you may want it for. You can buy as many as you like and link them up with a pair of xlr cables, as a link port is provided at the rear. I tell you, if you are not sure if you really want to buy this I tell you just do it, it will be the best investment you'll done in a while. I just love the product and I give behringer 10 stars of an excellently conceived product.

Best little powered monitor around!
I've owned three of these for about 2 years and just bought a fourth. For about a year, I played bass with a vocalist and guitar player so we each had our own monitor, albeit run out of the common single monitor out from the mixing desk. Always worked flawlessly, never had a serious issue. Now I participate in a hard-rocking open mic and we are using these as stage monitors behind two Yamaha 15" cabs with horns and one of those monolithic mixing/amp monsters. They are loud enough that the singer can always hear enough of the vocals, even when the band is really cranking out. One of the keyboard players uses one of the monitors to hear himself play and sing and is very happy with the result. While these monitors don't have a lot of bass response, enough bleeds through from the FOH that it's not an issue, and it's so out of phase by the time it gets back through the system that feedback is not an issue. The new fourth monitor will be used for the drummer, who has been complaining that he has problems hearing the keyboards and vocalists. He's positioned in the back of the room, and, well, it is a drum kit that he's banging away on, isn't it? At any rate, I used to use a 10" wedge with a horn for him with an auxiliary amp, but there just isn't enough room anymore(up to 3 guitar players/singers plus two keyboard guys, bass, drums and congas in a 20'x20' space!). Hopefully this will add enough to the existing stage volume from the other monitors that his complaints will cease. About the only drawback I see in these monitors is the line/mic pushbutton at the back of the unit. This affects the connectors on the back and is very easy to toggle while setting up, which causes the downstream monitor to seemingly not work. The other issue I have is the minimal documentation. It reads like someone from the marketing department wrote it, and they never used it in a live situation. Niggling details, but important when every second counts before showtime. Other than these two minor details, I love this little box!

Handy device to have in my sound arsenal
I've been moving away from passive loudspeakers for my occasional sound gigs that I do for free for my ski club and Milwaukee freethinker group (SWiFt). This device will come in handy when I need combined music amplification and the ability to make announcements. My Behringer 208D is better for music, but despite having 2 inputs you can only use one at a time. So I'd have to plug and unplug devices manually as I switch between the two inputs. Who needs that hassle. Since I also purchased a Rolls XS21 crossover device, I could use this as a small monitor for the high end and my Vocopro Sub-1500 for the low end. The full range speaker could probably benefit by only having to handle frequencies above 100 to 150 hertz; instead of having to go down to a pretty low 65 hz according to the owners manual. I plan to do a full test of the device this weekend, but it did come in handy last Sunday. Somebody brought a boombox to a party, but the CD player didn't work. He had a computer as a backup device, but sound from the built in speakers was pathetic. I pulled out the 205D and hooked it up to the computer, and it worked great. From background music to full out sound amplification, this should be one versatile device. Update: Used this PA on Sunday to provide sound for some DVDs were were showing. They were mainly interviews and speeches, so hardcore bass wasn't needed. Vocal quality was more important, and this PA performed wonderfully. Clear mono sound meant you could hear every word; despite some of the speakers having accents and dialects that through a lesser system would have been muddied. The people that see and hear this device are really amazed so much sound comes from such a small device. All those knobs and connectors really make it look professional.

This is a great device
This monitor lets me hear myself sing on stage even with loud guitars and drums. I don't blow out my voice anymore. This is a great investment and I'm glad I made it. I'm going to buy another because it is so good. I run my mic into this unit, then use the out on the back of this unit to go to the PA. It works flawlessly. You can also plug in two other devices such as Acoustic guitar or an MPEG player. It can be used as a stand alone because it is very loud. I never have to worry about feedback anymore, this device can get very loud before it starts feeds back. It's tiny in size, light weight, has a three band EQ, has three channels and has phantom power. It's perfect.

Tiny but powerful
Small monitors pack a punch. No more lugging gigantic floor monitors to gigs. Popped em on 1/2 mic stand. Sound quality is good and they can be daisy chained for multiple band members.

Great product
I love this product. Perfect for my application. I did not like it as a “small pa” - mic and guitar straight in - not enough EQing. BUT as a monitor post soundboard - it sounds great. Plenty of volume for a personal monitor - or even shared between a few people if up on a stand as designed.
