Eden's Decor Rectangular 6' X 8' Beige Sun Shade Sail UV-Blocking Outdoor Canopy Patio

See also an update below.Last year I bought (and reviewed) a Shade and Beyond 10 x 13 sail for our back deck and it has performed well, looked great and lasted well so far (2 out of a 4 year warranty). I wanted to add a similar shade sail to our front deck, but this one was the only one that had the size I needed - 6 x 12. It looked similar, though it is 180gsm versus 185 gsm. After installation, it definitely does not feel as thick a material and it has several flaws in the weave that appear as small holes, where the other sail had none. Also the weave is not consistent.Other than these issues, the sail looks the same color (beige) and does the job intended. The D-rings are sturdily installed.Note that the sail edges are curved when installed. The across-D-ring dimensions are 6 x 12 but the mid-width and mid-length are 5' 3" x 11'. I expected this, but some might be disappointed. It may not give the full coverage expected. I ordered a size which allowed for about 18" of chain/turnbuckle at each corner to have the line of action of the chains point to the middle of the sail. This allows the turnbuckle tension to uniformly stretch the sail tight. For the mounting, I installed the vertical poles using 1" galvanized pipe and flanges bolted to the existing 4 x 4 posts and added eyes on the porch fascia. The sail slopes by about a foot or more to shed water, though rain will fall through the open weave. On the rear deck, I'd been able to add 4 x 4's to the existing wood railings and so am able to get a tighter tension on those than on the steel poles at the front. The sail still works well though, but will likely move more in the wind and sag more in rain. (See the uploaded photos that illustrate my points)In conclusion, this does the job and looks good if you aren't too detail-oriented like me. It was a much more expensive sail for the size, yet had much lower quality. I was expecting better, but likely won't be buying this brand again when this one eventually gets old and needs replacing.UPDATE (July 15): Eden's Decor left me two voicemails over the weekend to call them to try and address my dissatisfaction with the shade sail. Today, I returned their calls and they immediately offered a replacement sail or a partial refund. Since the sail is up and to almost anyone but me, it looks fine, I asked for a partial, but substantial refund and that is now on its way into my account with no hassle. I now feel that what I received was value for the money now spent.While I am disappointed to have been sent a sail with obvious quality issues, I am pleased that Eden's Decor reads reviews and does respond promptly to address customer issues. That is a rare trait and much appreciated. I have amended my rating from 2 to 3 stars in the hope that Eden's Decor explores improving its quality control.

I love this product! It works perfectly for what I needed which is to cover my pergola. I live in Los Angeles and it get very hot and needed just a little more shade so I covered the whole thing with this beautiful blue cover. Its light and breathes. Also the morning dew would drop off the pergola on to the furniture and I couldn’t sit outside until it dried. So this solved that problem. The company was so great “Edens Decor”. The cover got stuck in the downtown mail center because of complications caused by Covid. When I contacted them about it Arthur immediately made me a new one and drove 1 1/2 hrs to bring it to me. Who does that? So yes I recommend this product cause it’s great but I highly recommend this company because they will bend over backwards to make it right. Thanks again Arthur your the best!

Good quality. Using it to shade my south facing patio door to my bedroom in Phoenix area. Already have black out cellular shade on inside window and shade screens outside and before the sail shade we could feel heat radiating into the bedroom. This 3rd layer has significantly reduced the amount of heat experienced in our bedroom. Probably wont make the same significant difference at higher temperatures but for the cost it is helpful.

I tried products from two other sellers for our sun shade before Eden's Decor, and I'm so pleased with this product. The item arrived on time and in lovely packaging. The sun shade itself is durable and very well made, with meticulous seams and very sturdy corner reinforcements. The fabric is very good quality, not cheap or unraveling like some of the other sun shades I found. I was able to install it in just a few hours using a sun shade sail kit of fasteners I found on Amazon and the end result is terrific for my small patio. Overall I'm very pleased with this product and very appreciative of Eden's Decor. Highly recommend!

Update: contacted seller. They have a one year warranty. They shipped a replacement shade. It arrived today and is defective. Has a big snag in the material. Contacted seller again via email, no rep sponsor yet.Easily installed, perfect shade then poof it ripped in the corners and fell onto my patio. Purchased in June 2019 used thru August. Put away for winter. Put back up in May 2020 and bam it is now a nice big piece of trash. So bummed as we have company coming in 2 days and have no shade from the New Mexico sun.

I'm disappointed that the sail stretched out so much. We have the poles at 8' and 10' heights thinking that it would give us a slight slope for the rain to run off but every day the center is getting lower and lower. It is now as tight as we can get it, the D rings are hooked directly to the pole. As it stretches the little holes in the weave of the fabric are larger which lets in more light and heat. The blue color on my monitor shows up as a very attractive deep blue, in reality it is extremely close to the color of those blue tarps that you can buy at the big box hardware stores. We will live with it for this summer and replace it next summer...any suggestions on what to replace it with? On the plus side, the material is lightweight and easy to handle.

I would not recommend buying this if you’re looking for shade. I went back to using my sun umbrella for that. This definitely looks nice and appears to hold up well, however, I need shade when I’m sitting on my back patio in the hot Florida sun, and this does not provide that. It does help a little with brightness, though. It Also does not shelter you from the rain as it allows the water to bleed through (I assume in order to keep the water from waiting it down). Again, I went back to using my sun umbrella to keep the rain off of me while sitting outside. Guess I didn’t need the sunshade after all.

I bought the 18x20 for over my driveway and works perfect. I also use my drive way to extend my work shop and I do not have to wear a hat. I am protected and sun does not beat down on me. Great cover and I also plan on placing several more in my back yard
