If you have a socket set, one of the heads will fit. **Q: Struggling to secure bolt even having brought a socket set to do this. very difficult to get purchase on the it. How has anyone else done this?** A: i have the same problem and i have 2 of these. i find that it you turn your parasol to a stop, it tightens the screw and works that way. have to do a few times. **Q: is this suitable for a 2.8m dia. cantilever umbrella?** A: Sorry don't know but the seller information might tell you in the 'further details'. I think it might wobble but I've noticed other cantilever umbrellas have a different base design so perhaps a round one wouldn't work. The stainless tube, in which a parasol would sit, could be of a heavier gauge but it remains to be seen whether it stands the test of time. One thing worth mentioning is that you will need a box spanner or a socket set with a deeper than usual socket in order to tighten the retaining nut which is recessed quite deeply.
