Hohner Accordions Hohner Blues Band Harmonica, Key of C, Chrome (1501BX)

For health reasons, I volunteer teaching COPD patients (Respiratory Illness) to sufferers to help improve their breathing by using music. I have always purchased these Hohner BluesBand harmonicas to give away for my free lessons. They are great harps for beginners and the Harp brand I always carry in the car since back in my college days. The cost is far less than for the quality of the BluesBand as a beginner instrument.

Love the tone and quality for a beginner to intermediate player. Seems like it is made well and sounds great.

Quality harmonica for a great price. I am by no means a Harmonica expert, but both my children and my father have enjoyed playing this harmonica. It is sturdy metal with a great tone. Easy to get sound out of by blowing in and out. I bought them based on the recommendation of several Harmonica professionals as I wanted real instruments for my kids rather than toys, but did not want to spend too much as they will probably primarily be used as toys for several years to come. I am not dissapointed in my purchase, and my father who is a professional musician liked them so much he requested one for himself. I will say that the packaging leaves something to be desired as they come in a nice cardboard box, but it is designed in such a way that it opens up with the slightest provocation. This means that the harmonica stays loose is our musical instrument bin for the kids, and it fell out of it's box in shipping. Fortunately it's a sturdy enough Harmonica to survive the bumps caused by getting jostled about and the product packaging does not diminish the quality of the instrument.

You have to blow really hard to get any of the higher notes. Compared to a Special 20, it is obvious that the Bluesband is little more than a toy. Hohner need to exercise more quality control if they are going to source products from offshore!

Beste mensen, op de verpakking ( BLUESBAND) ( Enthusiast ) is een Blauw doosje met rood vlakje rechts staat de harmonica ..... " BLUESBAND" met zijn cijfers 1t/m 10. MAAR...., als je de harmonica zelf bekijkt..., staan die cijfers niet onder de naam, en de toon start gelijk met cijfer 10 . Draai je de harmonica om ...,dan zie je een blanco verchroomde afdekplaat , met daarop wèl de cijfers 1t/m 10. En start je wèl met cijfer 1,en de goede toon . De afdekplaten zij dus verkeerd gemonteerd. Dat stelt teleur!! Ze kloppen gewoon niet , zo bouwen Duitsers dit niet. De HOHNER BLEUSBAND is in CHINA gebouwd, en komt dus niet uit Duitsland. Dan ontbreekt in de verpakking de code om de FREE ONLINE LESSONS te kunnen volgen. Ook wordt de harmonica geleverd in "nietszeggend" transparant plastic doosje. DAT MAAKT DIT ALLES TOT EEN TELEURSTELLENDE START, als beginner!!. HET POSITIEVE is dat de HOHNER TONEN, wèl als HOHNER klinken. Maar graag zou ik een ander, op juiste wijze uitgevoerde BLUESBAND HARMONICA,ter vervanging v/h zojuist verkeerde ontvangen exemplaar , van AMAZON tegemoet willen zien , zodat mijn vertrouwen in de HOHNER HARMONICA hersteld wordt.
