Don't Ler Me Go
This was a wonderful book. It has well thought out characters that were very individual & had their own quirks & very different traits from each other but they come together to help this vivacious little girl in their aptmt hse whose addict mother might lose her if she doesn't get her act together. They all agree to help with the little girl & she has a way of making each of them learn to come together & actually learn to become a misfit family together. They even learn to trust & confide in each because of the love of the little girl who never gives up on them. It is one of the most amazing & lovely stories I've ever read in a very long time. I highly recommend this book. It's most definitely worth reading & listening to with audible.

Four stars
One of the better books I've read in a long time. Very inspiring to remind all.of us to be kind and not to fear reaching out to one another. Each of us, at some point will need someone and there's no shame in that! The characters are well developed and charming, each in their own way which kept me reading to the last page. Bravo on this one to the author

easy read
This book moved incredibly fast for me, i really enjoyed it. It at times was funny and other times sad. The way the characters bonded over time was so sweet. I recommend this book as a light and enjoyable read. One that you will fall in love with the characters.

Beautifully written
I felt like this story reached deeply into my soul and it will always be there. I am a recovering addict. I last used in1987 and my son was four years old at the time. I felt so guilty for what kind of mother I was then. He is a soon to be forty year-old man and a wonderful person. I had another child , a daughter seven years later who by the grace of God never knew the mom who did drugs. I loved the character Billy in this story . Beloved Grace so much that he learned to put Graces happiness above the fear he has of living. that is the definition of love. All the characters in this story will stay in my heart. Although I found myself wanting to dislike Graces Mom, I could relate to her because her addiction drove her to do things she would not have done had she been clean and sober . This is a a story of healing , forgiveness and ultimately love . The connection that forms by this group of neighbors is inspiring.

This story is what caring really is
How is it that we can live so close to others and know nothing about them? Until there is a serious need we keep to ourselves. We are all on our own journey, but all have trials of our own. This is a story, beautifully written, that shows how we can help each other and make a huge difference for even ourselves. Catherine Ryan Hyde has become my favorite author. Her voice is down to earth. I highly recommend this book and all of her stories.

A realistic read.
What I love about this author is that she tells it as it is _ Life as today for adults and children. She has such a gift, one minute you're cheering the next deflated. Her books should be compulsory for teenagers today, a real taste of the good and bad in the world yet you never regret reading them.

Great story about a community brought together by a young girl.
I simply loved this book about Grace, a neglected girl bringing a series of lonely people together. They learn to, between them, care for her by taking her to school, collecting her from school and babysitting her whilst her mother is “sleeping”. Of course there is so much more to this story than that but I don’t want to spoil it for any future readers! It is such a change to read about good people who have flaws, but can still open their hearts and lives for Grace. I’ve read several of Catherine’s books and can’t get enough. They are pure emotion. I would highly recommend this book.

Loved it
I liked the way the child was the outspoken logical person in the story. An insight into the mind of a child. The adults all with their own problems made it an interesting read.

A sweet, touching story about a young girl, Grace living in an apartment block with her drug addicted mother. After almost being taken "in to the system", her neighbours come together to take over Graces care in hope that her mother will finally become "clean". I liked reading this. Didn't blow me away - I wanted more from the ending - but I definitely recommend.

Highly recommend.
This is the first book, I've read with this author. Like the way a 10 year old, could connect all the other misfits in her apartment building. Very interesting.
