However, the av-to-hdmi converter I received works perfectly and as advertised. It does not upconvert, so you’ll need to adjust your hdtv to get the appropriate screen ratio, but otherwise it worked flawlessly. I tested mine with our old Hi-8 camcorder, an N64, and a PS1 and they all looked great on screen and sounded fine in stereo.The unit itself is very small and easily tucked behind my wall-mounted tv. Installation is simple and took ~1min. Just plug the hdmi side into your tv, the av side into your device, and the usb power connector into the usb slot into the tv and it’s all ready to go. Alternatively you could plug the usb into a wall outlet for power, and the av cables come with an adapter so you can switch between male/female connectors; this is important b/c you can either plug it directly into a device, like a vcr or other component, or have a device plug into it, like a camcorder or game system.Bottom line: the item I received works well, hides well, and is simple to install and use. The console is a knockoff of a Nintendo so hard to say if the issue is from the converter or the console. Requires plugging/unplugging of the HDMI from the tv to reset to a different game other than the one you are already on. The video/audio otherwise is fine. Also, the USB power source has no plug in the box so you need your own.
