YukiHalu Ceiling Fan Remote Control Kit, Universal and Compact Size, Fan Speeds and Timings Control, Comply with UL1917

So the house we bought has a very nice ceiling fan light combo. But there was no way to turn on the fan, just the light. Opened up the cowl at the top to see if there was an existing control but no. So this looked like it would work and was less expensive than a brand new remote control ceiling fan (although I really liked the tropical palm fans). Another discovery I made was the ceiling fan had two levels of bulbs including 4 hidden above the fan. Those never turned on. So installed the control. Hot and neutral on the input. Output has separate wires for fan and lights and neutral and an antenna to receive the RF control signal. So the color of the wires on the ceiling fan actually matched the color code on the control box. How rare is that? But there was a yellow wire from the fan left over which I traced to the top hidden bulbs with an ohmmeter. OK so connected the two sets of lights together and powered it up. All ok. Lights turn on right away when you turn on the wall switch. Think of that as your master control. You leave the room and you can turn off the lights and fan both. The control remote has separate buttons for the light (not dimmable) and the fan (3 speeds). It also has a timer you can set for 1 to 8 hours but I'm not sure how you would use that function. I only want to have light and be cool for X hours then darkness and no fan? IDK. The antenna needs to stick out beyond the metal cowl or it wont receive the signal from the RF remote. I didn.t like the yellow color against the ceiling so I trimmed it and added about 8 inches to match the color of the ceiling. Now its unnoticeable. They were smart and capped off the antenna with a little blob of plastic so you dont try to hook it up to an AC line (very tempting as I had an extra yellow wire and the antenna was yellow but I resisted that temptation. All works, I have LED bulbs on the way to replace the 240 watts of incandescent bulbs it had and its happy camper time.

This little remote is super easy to wire up. There is a black and a white wire coming from one end of the receiver to connect to the ceiling's wires, (and in this old house we only have two wires coming from the ceiling). Then the other end of the receiver has the wires that connect to the ceiling fan and they are color coded to match perfectly, so no thinking or guessing is involved. The only thing is, the receiver does not fit between the bracket attached to the ceiling, and the other bracket that holds the ceiling fan, but it's easy to secure it by threading a long plastic tie through there and snugging it up against the brackets... then the motor housing easily slides over all, making it a good fit. Just leave the yellow antenna wire peeking out the top of the housing. One thing to remember.... the pull chains for the light must be pulled to the on position, and the fan pull chain must be pulled three times to put it in the fastest position, in order for the remote to control them. I forgot about the fan's pull chain and nearly took the entire thing apart thinking the wiring somewhere must have come loose when I shoved it all up in the brackets, as the remote would only control the light, not the fan.... NOPE... just forgot to pull the chain for the fan! And make sure your wall switch is turned on - And you cannot use a dimmer wall switch with some fans. Like the model I got. A dimmer switch will make the fan hum loudly. I had to install a regular light switch and then it worked perfectly and is completely silent. And on that note, this remote does not include a dimmer feature. The light is either on or off. That's fine with me because if I want low light I don't use the ceiling light anyway.

The reasonably priced remote control was delivered quickly and undamaged. The instructions were easy-to-understand and the receiver was easy to wire to my Hunter ceiling fan. The remote performed perfectly when tested after the wiring was completed, but the receiver was too large to fit into either the electrical junction box or inside the Hunter's decorative cover. Because I do not have access to the junction box from the attic, my alternative was to either hide the receiver in a decorative box mounted to the ceiling or replace the fan's single pole "on/off" wall switch with a "smart" switch. While the "smart" switch is less convenient because it must be operated using an iPhone, installing a "smart" switch was an easier and more attractive solution than fabricating a ceiling box.

This remote kit works great. Small, about the size of a deck of cards. There are two things that are worth mentioning but aren’t bad enough to lose a star: - The remote unit in the fan issues a loud beep when you press a button on the remote to let you know it received the signal. Would be nice to be able to turn it off. - You can’t dim the light. It’s only on/off. The old factory kit for this Hampton Bay from a “big box hardware store” was dimmable and we miss having that feature. Overall a great kit. All parts (except batteries) are included. Easy to install. And works independently on two fans in the same room (pre-paired at the factory; no dip switches). EDIT: After looking at other similar remote kits, I noticed one had a picture indicating you could turn the beep off and on. I tried on this kit, and it works with this one also!! All you need to do is press and hold the stop button for about 6-8 seconds and the beep will turn off. If you want to turn it back on you press the stop button again and hold it 6-8 seconds and the receiver will beep to let you know it’s been turned back on.

Installed it yesterday and it all works great. I will say that although this device is shorter than most other models out there... it is thicker. Which is important. My particular fan had a bracing bar in the way and while the previous module I put up there was able to squeeze under it, this one couldn’t. But fortunately its short enough that it didn't matter much. It beeps whenever activated, which if that annoys you, you probably would want something different. It doesn't bother me so I’m fine with it. There is no way to change the frequency in case it interrupts any other models out there... but that is also not an issue for me. The thing I was most wanting this for was so I could sync it up to my broadlink pro to have my whole smart home setup. Broadlink doesnt read the entire RF frequency spectrum so thats when I ran into a bit of trouble with the last module I tried to install. I did my research and I can now confirm, THIS module WILL work with broadlink. Its just within the frequency range that that device will detect so if anyone else out there is in the same boat as me rest assured this will work. The biggest gripe I have about this product was the wall mount. They give you the cheapest screws and drywall thingys (forgot what you call em) the screws dont countersink into the wall mount so you CANNOT put the remote into the holder. Which is super stupid. Luckily I had some of my own drywall thingys and appropriately sized screws so that the screw heads will lay flush to the surface and not block the remote from being inserted. Alternatively you can just use double sided tape. Its not as though the thing is heavy anyways. But thats the worst complaint... which really isnt a big deal. So yeah pretty good product and I recommend.

This controller installed easily and works great! Here is the story. I bought a new fan online at Home Depot. The controller worked for a week. It took 10 + tries to do any function. Called and they diagnosed a faulty controller and week later it arrives. This one only worked on hi speed and would not turn off. Now the Hampton Bay remote buttons are depressed from me holding it down to make it work. Home Depot does not carry the remote/controller combo in stores!! I have had enough with this remote /controller. I looked on Amazon for a replacement. This one has great reviews and could be delivered next day and a great price. All functions work great. Starts fast and I love the remote. The remote buttons “click”. And it has a very light tone at the controller which lets me know the controller is receiving the command. I do not like the “squishy” buttons on the original Hampton Bay remote. I would recommend this product!!

The remotes quit working in a short amount of time and I can't find a way to purchase a replacement. The only option is to purchase the kit.

With a bunch of these to chose from, I like the look of the remote look and the reasonable price, so I tried this one. Connection was a snap with wires clearly marked. All hardware and wire nuts are included. Key point: The control module is small enough to fit easily in the small canopy of a lot of older fans. The house I bought had a Home Depot brand "Hamilton Bay" brand fan in one of the bedrooms from the late 90's and had no issues. The remote is solid feeling and has clearly worded speed and light controls, and a timer control as well, which is a great function that most remotes fans do not have. If you have older ceiling fans in good shape, I highly recommend this remote. Update: I bought another one for another existing fan. Works flawlessly, same as the first one. Honestly, I may just buy 4 more of these for the other fan I have. The remotes are very study and come with a bracket hanger for the wall.

Había comprado otro mas barato que no me funciono. Pero este es buen producto. Funcionó a la primera. Manual adecuado y llega con todo lo descrito. El control ya está enlazado al receptor solo conectar el receptor, baterías al control y listo. El cable de alimentación es el que da energía a la luz.

Installed 3 of these into my condos fans in Costa Rica. They work perfectly and make a huge difference. Before installing these my fans only had one speed, fast. It felt like the condo was going to take off. Now we have 3 speeds but medium speed is perfect. They were easy to install but for my fans which are down-rod style the canopy that butts up against the ceiling are smallish and an upside down bell shape so the black receiver needed to be a bit smaller. It means my canopies no longer butt completely up to the ceiling at one side. This didn’t bother me as I butted it up against the ceiling where you would see it as you came into the room and the small gap is where you would really have to look to see it. All in all I was very happy with this purchase. The remotes in their holders screwed to the walls look handsome too.

Muy buenos, cumplen con su cometido y fácil de usar. Le doy 4 estrella porque el control es un plástico medio corriente pero por el precio está bien. La instalación me la hizo un electricista cuando puso los ventiladores, pero entiendo no es complicado. La verdad valen la pena.
