On the back seam, not counting the strap nor the open space 4 1/4". Eyeballing the perpendicular from the tabletop to the button it looks like 5", but I've curved my brim a bit so that may add height. **Q: Is the off-center brim intentional, like is a style?** A: I take you already own one of these caps and that is feels like the brim is off center?
