If you don't ever plan on removing the screw, use red. I use it as a very low tension threadlocker on tiny screws..Have you tried Loctite blue threadlocker? Can you change out the nylon setscrews for brass or stainless steel ones? Those would be very lockable with any of the loctite products. Put it on the threads of the screw and wait the full 24 hours to be sure it's set. Been using their stuff for many years. Make sure you get the right strength for the size of your screws. - Low strength (this item) - purple/loctite 222 (liquid) is for up to 1/4" screws Med strength - blue/loctite 243 (liquid) & 248 (stick) is for 1/4" to 3/4" screws High strength - red/loctite 263 (liquid) is for up to 1" screws Purple you can take the screw back out with just a hand tool. Blue you may need some sort of leverage. Red you'll want to heat up a little bit before trying to remove the screw. Stay within the manufacturer's suggested strength for your screw size to avoid risking stripping/damage. I've stripped a few screws in the past thinking that it would be fine, but the screws were softer than I expected. Not worth the risk/headache.
