Apple Memory Module 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 (PC3-8500) - 2x2GB SO-DIMMs

I replaced the stock 2 GB of RAM that came with my late-2008 aluminum unibody Macbook and it just works without any error. I have definitely noticed an improvement in my Macbook's performance as far as less lag between opening and switching between applications and desktops (though without proper hardware testing I cannot be more specific with actual performance measures). I have noticed that all system level processes are much more snappy as well. For example, accessing mission control, clearing the desktop, and all the other OS X Mountain Lion features just work a lot quicker now with the extra RAM. I am so baffled how I got such a good deal on this RAM. I was a little iffy at first since usually inexpensive parts (especially on Amazon...no offense Amazon) are worth as much as what they are charged for. In this case, the RAM works perfectly as far as I know and no errors have occurred since installation. I recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a fantastic deal on RAM and who needs a performance boost with their Macbook or any other compatible notebook.

Easy to install IF one notices that Philips head screws fastening bottom plate (on iMac desktop) take a No. 2 screwdriver not a No. 1 at first appearance. AND memory module DOES have to be carefully tapped in to make proper contact. There is no "click" to bottom out with simple finger pressure as per Apple instructions. However the A-TECH model from Amazon performed perfectly on first try. Excellent experience.

OMG! I went from 2GB to 4GB and it was like a new machine. For a cheap upgrade, with a positive impact on performance that doesn't feel cheap, make the upgrade. In fact, I'm a greedy bastard and so now I've ordered 2x4GB and I'm going to switch the 2x2GB into my wife's machine! And, as I said I'm a greedy bastard, so I also now have replaced my hard drive with a SSD. WOW! That made like 10x the difference of the RAM which I was already pleased as punch with! I went from 160GB HD to 126GB SDD, but I'm now using a wifi enabled external hard drive, so I have little need to load my SSD with more than 10-15GB. BUY RAM! As I've learned, more RAM is always good. Cheap, and you will see a big difference.

My wife's 2009 macbook freaked out last week and the root cause was that one of the original 1GB DDR3 memory modules was failing. I swapped them out for this memory (along with a new hard drive while I was in there) and things are working great now. She commented last night that it was "fast and snappy", which means my work there is done.

With the looming OSX Mavericks coming in a week, I decided to upgrade my late 2008 Aluminum Macbook from factory installed 2GB to 4GB to speed up my computer. Now, memory RAM is needed in order to open multiple applications (documents, pdfs, internet, powerpoint) simultaneously on your laptop without lag. In this day and age, 4GB ram is the minimum needed to run software smoothly, in my opinion. The 2x2gb kit came in a sealed aluminum package and they are as advertised - 2 x 2GB DDR3 1066 MHz ram (seller was 4AllDeals), although the circuit boards were slightly different from each other (shown on the image I have uploaded). After you look up on how to install memory on the Macbook, the install was a breeze. PROS: -SAMSUNG memory RAM -expands my Apple laptop to maximum allowed RAM (from 2GB to 4GB) -compatible with the Late 2008 Aluminum Macbook -price is fraction of the cost compared to elsewhere CONS: -none Overall, I really liked this product and now my computer is optimized and almost as new. I would recommend this memory upgrade for those waiting to install the upcoming OSX Mavericks on their Apple laptops.

The best $13 I ever spent on a computer. My late 2008 MacBook Pro unibody was all but consigned to the closet due to its age. It was far too slow to do anything meaningful at all and I thought it was game over. After reading a few reviews on Amazon that a RAM upgrade has made a dramatic difference to others in a similar situation, I decided to give it a try. There was the question about whether I should get 4GB or 8GB (the latter apparently supported by the firmware update I have on my MBP), but considering that my computer is 8 years old, I decided to restrain myself to 4GB. The difference has been night and day. My MBP has a brand new lease on life, being very usable and, together with a new battery (easily replaceable on this model) is now being used daily again with great convenience. I highly recommend this upgrade, especially for the price, if you need any 1066MHz DDR3 RAM in a somewhat dated (but by no means out-dated) computer.

so far so good, the installation while simple, (there's a guide you can down load from Apple Support as there are no directirons provided by the shipper), requires special positioning while you insert the memory card. Once you start the card in you must tilt it down very slightly and then push in and up to get it under the card above and in line for the many pins to insert (take a look in the space with a flashlite first to see where the pins must go). Then you continue to push until it's almost in, then one last push where you will FEEL IT seat into the holes of the pins. It should appear to be in place like the previously installed card above. Don't get frustrated, you may have to switch the cards (left to right, right to left) before you get that final "click" and they fit properly. Hope this helps because once you've done it it will be a simple move in the future. Oh, by the way, the 4G set (two 2G's) have had a very appreciable effect on the speed of my late 2009 MAC. The cards increased my RAM to 8G's from the original 4G's. The improvement will be instantly obvious.

I purchased the product for a mid 2010 white MacBook. Installed the RAM and had no issues, turned laptop on and it started normally and showed 4 gigs of installed RAM. With macOS Sierra the laptop was very slow, after the installation the slowness issues disappeared completely. I installed an SSD in that laptop too and the combo of upgraded RAM and SSD has made the 7 year laptop very snappy and a pleasure to use. Highly recommend his very inexpensive upgrade. Product exceeded my expectation on price and performance.
