SLIK Professional 3-Way Panhead - Supports 22 lb (10 kg), Black (618-909)

I tried a bunch of 3-way heads over the years including the top of the line from Gitzo and Bogen/Manfrotto. This is clearly the best one for me.It is smoother than the largest Gitzo 3-way (5 series)and all the Bogen 3-way heads. The 2-series Gitzo was very smooth and is lighter than this Slik head, but it has a low-load capacity (certainly ok for lighter camera/lens setups).I found it very easy to attach and remove my cameras - there is plenty of clearance and the thumbwheel is comfortable and easy to use (unlike the Gitzo heads). The bubble levels seem accurate and are easyto use.The downside is the weight, but there are always trade-offs. The cost is very reasonable in comparison to the other heads I've referred to and I feel the quality is as high or better than all of time.This head is a totally different breed than the low-cost Slik heads, just as their professional tripods are from their most popular tripods. This head is the best 3-way head I have ever used.
