Works great and very convenient!
We live in a very cold climate and wanted to use the dryer's heat in our house instead of wasting it outside. I bought this unit and it works great. Easy to install on the wall and connect into the dryer. Blows the hot air with some force so it distributes the heat well. The lint is contained in the unit and easily cleaned. Would buy again and recommend to anyone who vents their dryer indoors.

LULU MADE ME DO IT!
IT WORKS!!! It's working this very second to trap the lint from my new dryer across the room in my really small apartment. I don't have a laundry hook up, and I can't vent out a window, so this is the next best thing. After a few loads, I opened this filter and found a really fat HANDFUL OF DOG FUR from my rescued white rat terrier mix puppy mill mom, who is the boss of me and runs this place! It's effective, easy to use and is decent-looking -- important, because it's a prominent part of my decor in this small place! I bought a different, safer vent hose with an easy-to-put and keep on to fit this great lint filter trap to my dryer, but everything else is terrific!!! Well-worth the extra money. Thanks Action Products and Amazon Prime!!!

Worth the Extra Money!
It's great for places where you cannot vent your dryer outside.I moved into an apartment that was washer/dryer friendly if you brought your own. But they told me you had to buy an indoor vent. I did quite a bit of research and landed on this because based on MANY reviews I read, this model was easier, cleaner, and more "friendly" than the other canisters you can buy. In the other kinds, apparently lint flies all over the place unless you use a nylon to catch it. And then I can see it being annoying because you'd have to keep bending down, stripping the nylon out, cleaning the whole thing, and then reassembling it. I don't care who you are - going through that process every time you need to clean the filter is a pain in the royal rumpus and no one should have to do that. This indoor filter can sit on the floor OR be mounted to a wall. (I prefer mounted because the space on the floor is so tight). It's self contained with a lint trap already built in. All someone needs to do is turn that handle a few cranks. It cleans all the lint off the screen and drops it into the removable drawer below. After every few dryer usages, you pull the drawer out, refill with no less than 1 inch of water, and you're good to go!It literally can't be any more simple than that. It is definitely worth the extra money I dropped on this one. Bonus! I live in Michigan and I saw it shipped from California. I thought to myself that it was a bummer because it would take well over a week to get here. As it so happens, it got here in LESS than a week! Awesome seller! Some things to be aware of:• Any time you vent indoors, the area it's in will become extremely warm and moist. This can be nice in the winter time when it's cold and the air becomes dry. In the summer, though, be prepared to turn on your air conditioning to disperse some of that heat if you run it often. If you have a huge aversion to the dampness, invest in a dehumidifier. For me, the dampness hasn't been an issue whatsoever (and my laundry room is pretty small.)• Indoor venting is probably not as friendly to people with breathing issues. For example my sister has asthma and I wouldn't really recommend ANY sort of indoor trap for her. I won't pretend to assume ZERO lint escapes from the trap.• Don't worry if you've never hooked up a washer before. My boyfriend hasn't ever done anything remotely close to this and he managed it easily enough. The set comes with instructions for how it's assembled.

Best solution for the problem
If your home or apartment was built without a dryer exhaust duct (an inexcusable oversight), then you have to vent your dryer into a device like this. We have tried several alternatives and this is by far the best of them. The filtering system is much more effective and more easily cleaned than its competitors. Of course, you still wind up with the heat of the dryer exhaust in your laundry area, but that can only be avoided by finding a way to vent the dryer exhaust outdoors, or (if you don't mind the mess) to your attic or garage. The removable water tray is very convenient. It is nice that they include a flexible hose to attach the dryer exhaust to this device, but having compressible spring clips instead of adjustable metal bands to fasten the hose at each end detracts from what is otherwise a good solution for a bad situation.

Does the job
This product works well if you can't vent your dryer outside. The design could be improved by a clip or something to keep the screen on. Also replace the clips that attach the hose to the dryer with something easier to use. Overall it's ok. It works

Embarrassed to say I waited so long.
I wish I'd bought this sooner. My dryer hasn't worked efficiently in years. Although it occurred to me that I need the vent that goes up through the roof to be professionally cleaned or possibly replaced, the electricity to keep running the dryer seemed cheaper and easier.Items that used to take multiple cycles to dry now dry in 20 minutes. I'm not exaggerating, hence the source of my embarrassment. A grown woman should have known it shouldn't take 3 hours to dry a load of clothes, even if there were jeans and towels. Also the lint is being collected more efficiently in the dryer filter so I have less lint on my clothes. The amount of lint on this indoor filter is not unreasonable and it isn't difficult to dump it out after each laundry day. I'm dumping mine into my compost bin outside.I can understand why this item might not work for everyone. Venting hot damp air into a living space in the summer is a terrible idea. But venting warm damp air into a home in the desert in the winter is not only going to make my home more comfortable, it's going to save on my heating bill. My laundry room is just off my kitchen and because of it's location I can vent my dryer into the garage, into the main living space or to the outside in shoulder seasons. By next summer I will probably have saved enough money to pay to have the vent pipe replaced and even when I do I am still going to use this item in the winter.
