Starfinder RPG: Character Operations Manual

This is unfortunately two books, one of them is great
The first three chapters are amazing, even if you never use the new classes. The new class and race material is well polished and even thr feats offer new directions for classes. Finally, the archetypes are worth building around, not just icing for the setting. New spells, though pretty limited for mystic and technomancer, are enough to boost or design a theme around, or even dabble into with multiclass, such as a mechanic that goes into item warding or cursing..... then theres the new rules for starship combat roles, equipment, and downtime rules. All are good, but feel like we’re getting a redacted version of these sections. The new starship roles/ actions are worth a read. The downtime is a blatant rip off of what xanathar’s guide did fir d&d. Its good, but with so little material, it feels like some writer’s last minute email contributions. There are ten new weapons in the book, shields, and a serum or five that just seem like potion v.2 again. With wychwarper and biohacker new classes, i really hoped they would go extensive with new gear or magic items. Nothing here seems finished, just material they should have expanded, and it feels oddly short in comparison to the rest of this great book.Looking forward to making a few vesk vanguards with the new guard/ spell guard style feats to work as a squad.

Well made
Only downside is it should be bigger as with all but their core rulebook they are really small for the price

Highly recommend for Starfinder groups
This book has a great number of options for player characters. The new classes feel well balanced and new class features give some much needed legacy vibes to the classes. The alternative race traits and feats also help expand the viable character concepts. Extra themes are nice, but they don't add as much as you might expect.

Great Book, Packed with Content
I've purchased every Starfinder book so far, and this one has been one of my favorites. All three of the new classes are amazing, and fit right at home among the core ones we already received. The new alternate class features for the core classes are also really cool and open up to a lot of builds that weren't possible before. The archetypes are rich with flavor and can really push characters in new directions. New feats and new spells are just icing on the cake! The new ship combat rules are interesting, as are the new roles, and the downtime section is one of my favorite parts- everything my players were doing anyway now gives them a mechanical benefit!Solid book, deserving of 5 stars, and excellent work that I can always expect from Paizo.

Not perfect, but more Starfinder is always good.
More classes and sub classes for one of my favorite tabletop engines. I'll never be upset about that. But, I wish the content didn't seem to skip around so much? It offers a lot of lore and stuff, is what I mean, but it just isn't well organized in the book, with smatterings here and there throughout, some of which relate to content in sn entirely different part of the book. Still I rate it high because of the player and GM resource materials. Which are GREAT!

Great book to complement this module
Purchased as a gift for son (early 20s). He is just starting this module type & wanted something beyind the basic of the module. He was impressed with the breadth of classes/types that were covered in the book and is excited to explore further.Shipped quickly.

Decent book, too short.
Character Operations Manual adds some interesting and fun options. New classes, more flexibility with Mystics, and being able to emulate some of the classic pathfinder classes. But overall, this book is way too small. It touches on important things, but so shallowly they might as well not be there. They admitted to cutting content and is absolutely shows. Features from the playtest are missing, some rules and options don't make sense, as if they were built on something that was removed. Ultimately, for the price, it's just not worth it. Especially in comparison to both current and older Pathfinder products. Unless they either add at absolutely minimum 40+ pages to future products or drop the price point, these books feel unfinished and overpriced.

Excellent addition to the core rules
As you would expect this is a well written and more importantly well balanced addition to your starfinder game. Throughly recommend it.

Great options
I find the new race, theme, and class options to be excellent. The classes are ok, and add some new twists. But, like all the Starfinder products, I find it overpriced for the volume of material. That is Paizo's new norm though, so we have to either suck it up or switch games...

This book allows for many paths of change for the classes in the Core rule book. there is new classes as well, as well as new spells and weapons. I love this book. very pleased

Good material but too short for the price.
Good material but too short for the price. The headline pretty much sums it up. Product quality (will the book last)) seems professional.

This is a must have for starfinder
Love this book. It is a must if you're playing starfinder. So much usable content for all the core classes and races. The new classes are very interesting and balanced in my experience.
