Surprisingly good!
I have an elderly dog whose molars have become encrusted with brown tartar. We have always taken him to the vet every couple of years but no longer want to risk anaesthesia - hes just too old. I have been trying a toothbrush & pet paste but the brush is ineffective on tough tartar. I took a chance on this product and it works really well! Its like using an electric toothbrush - you get a lot better results - same for pet teeth. I used a good quality charcoal toothpaste (a pet paste will do, too) with the brush attachment and it did well. There are 3 other attachments to help clean and polish. I couldn't get the device to charge via the computer but two AA batteries got it going just fine. I wish I had had this electric pet toothbrush years ago! It would be good to get any age dog started on good oral care - it could save $$$ at the vet and the bad effects of going under anaesthesia.

This can be a great tool
Like ANY pet product, there are a lot of factors that play into whether it is good for you and your situation. For me, this has been a great product. My GSP/Lab mix and my Lab were showing some hard tartar buildup on a couple of upper molars. The vet said we would potentially need a dental next year. I figured I had a year to try and safely address the problem myself, so I ordered this tool. My dogs are well trained and used to being manipulated for various things (aka: I use a dremel to grind their nails). So they did not take long to be comfortable with a machine being at their mouths. And it didn't take me long to figure out the best way to use this tool (angle, amount of pressure, etc) I wish I had taken before and after photos! I've had the tool for about 2 weeks now and have done short sessions with both dogs almost every day. The white, cone shaped head has removed just about all of that buildup (I use a pet formulated toothpaste as well). I need to contact the company to see if I can order a couple sets of replacement heads so I have them on hand, as I plan to use this as the regular toothbrush for my dogs now. I popped on the brush heads to generally clean the rest of their teeth that weren't showing signs of build up. I've been using it with AA batteries and they're still going strong after 2 weeks of use, but the included cord is very long. I believe that with regular use, my dogs will avoid needing to go under to have a dental cleaning at the vet (which in turn, also saves me hundreds of dollars). For the right dog and the right situation, I believe this product was worth the price!

Read Before You Purchase
Product is louder than the $5 battery operated toothbrush I bought to use on my dog. Also, and most importantly, when using device, my dog’s hair around his mouth got stuck in the device’s tip. It was very tedious to get my dog’s hair out. Obviously I shut off the device then I had to unscrew the tip off the device and then worked at getting all his hair untangled off from the tip. Not good at all. And my dog became restless. Tips are in these very tiny plastic encasings. Very easy to loose. Yet you can’t get replacement tips? Only comes with a cord and you have to use your own electrical plug. Why couldn’t the manufacturer have encased all components of this device in a case so parts are all together? I’m returning though because of the loudness and the fact my dog’s hair got caught in this device.

Easy to use
It is not so powerful that it scares my dogs. I have 3 bichons and they all 3 have let me use it on them with just a little fuss. The soft stove like attachment works the best. The Tartar was buffed off easily after using a dental scraping tool (not included) this is so much cheaper than going to the vet and having their teeth cleaned and I don’t have to sedate them.

Functional & fairly effective but VERY LOUD
The various brush types really help remove plaque. I wish I would have gotten something like this when my dog was younger! Definitely would have prevented some vet bills. The #1 con is how loud it is. The sound terrifies my dog which has made it rather difficult to brush her teeth. She even gets a little nervous when I turn on my electric toothbrush! Still if you have trained your dog well & reinforce the experience with treats etc, then I’d said get it! If there is a quieter version of this—-most definitely get that. Pros: -effectively removes plaque -various brushes allow you to clean gums, canines, etc & get off hard to remove build up. Cons: -noisy & this nerve racking for pet. Noise can make it difficult to brush your pets teeth depending on their training/personality/size.

It works perfect! Just one comment...
It's perfect for my 13 years old Jack Russell. I wish I had one of this five years ago. Maybe I wont take her to a professional cleaning under anestesia never again. I usually brush her teeth, so there was not a serious case of tartar, but it was difficult to clean some areas and eliminating the second grade tartar plaque and yellow stains that were already formed. At the third use, specially with the silicone tip for stubborn stains, her teeth are white and totally clean! The only problem I see is that the silicon tip, which is specially useful, worns out quickly, and they only sell the replacements in a pack with the four tips. It would be great if they sell them separatelly, because the other brushes are almost new compared with the silicone one.

Beware
I have a 4 year old shih tzu and using this tool on her did not work at all. If I didn't already contaminate it I would return the item. Its very loud so I'm sure it makes my dog nervous and a little scared. She also has a lot of hair and some of her hair on her face naturally falls down into her mouth area and when I was using the tool, her hair wrapped in the spinner (which rotates very fast!) and I had to hurry and turn the tool off so that it didn't rip her hair out. Once that happened, I was scared to death and never used it again. Basically, if your dog has a lot of hair by his/her mouth area then this might not be the best tool for your animal.

Very very decent device for scaling my dogs teeth. It actually worked. Would be better if they paired it with the polishing compound that is pet friendly and works with the device.

Love it!

It's not that easy to use because it makes a noise and my dog hates it in his mouth.

I wouldn’t recommend this product. The attachment is poor quality and started wearing out in the first use. Seller promised they would send me a replacement for the attachment, but has failed to do so now on two occasions. Keep away.
