Although it’s not mesh it’s a swimsuit fabric - the water didn’t make it sag - so i kept it because it provided a little more coverage than a mesh one- i was pleasantly surprised that i liked it so much. I think it will work well for this purpose. I am a pear shape, and it does show a lot of leg on the side due to my form and the way it is cut. Keep that in mind if you are curvy and are looking for something full coverage. It also is not really what I would call knee-length, but is rather a bit shorter. True to description, though it is not see-through. I found that it seemed secure when tied, though I haven't worn it to a beach or pool yet.
