Good as a toy, great as a teaching tool, less finiky than bread bording, never enough parts.

My son got the "Jr." kit for his 7th birthday. He loved it and was very interested in more experiments. He used his birthday money to buy this upgrade kit.We were very leery that this kit wasn't going to be as advertised due to some of the other reviews here, but we got exactly what it was advertised to be at a far better price than ordering directly from Elenco.My son is very happy with it and I think it's a great educational kit.Oh - just one downside -- be wary of the projects that make alarms and music... mom and dad might want to invest in some earplugs if your little electrical engineer gets this kit!

This is awesome for a kid who wants to be an electronics whiz. Can be used as a fun toy. I got the basic kit and my kid finished all the projects in a few days. I got this upgrade kit and my kid has been at it for many hours. She also asked me questions and googled a few herself. Great stuff.

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars. We got three separate upgrade kits instead of the one: UC-30, UC-50, and UC-80. While I didn't really mind the substitution, the software disc didn't come with UC-80 (Upgrade from SC500 to SC750) as pictured on the box. I guess in the UC-60 that was advertised in this listing you are to download? There was not a problem downloading, though it is almost 57 MB and does take a while if you don't have a super fast connection.

Awesome add on. Worth the money! We made sure to click on "shipped and sold by amazon" like other reviews suggested and got the full uc-60 kit. Opens up endless experimenting opportunities for my seven year old. We also have the snap circuits jr. And snap circuits motion.

I strongly recommend AGAINST purchasing this. Snap Circuits are wonderful toys and we love them in this house. However, THIS kit is not what is advertised--it only comes with 6 pieces, and has the advertised label placed over top of the correct label. This does not upgrade you from the junior kit to the advertised kit. We contacted amazon and got a refund, but this has been happening for over a year with this product as evidenced by the reviews below. Amazon states this is sold by a 3rd party--they are not standing by the advertised description and will NOT reship with the correct kit...they can only offer a refund. We now have a very disappointed 8 year old...he opened it this morning for his birthday and promptly got his gift taken away as it is completely useless without the other 46 parts that were missing.Be very cautious--it seems like a great deal but you will likely NOT be getting what was advertised.

Our son enjoys this kit, but the CD rom that was supposed to arrive with the kit was missing. This was a major disappointment. The kit itself is wonderful and keeps our son engaged for hours. Not sure what we can do about getting the CD rom sent to us???

Lots of new pieces, but nothing for the kids in terms of ideas of what to build. Makes it harder for younger kids to 'create' their own circuits that do fun things.
