First Probiotics that have started helping this quickly. Easy to swallow and effective helping GI issues with bloating and pressure which has been fairly severe. I have not had help this quickly and I have taken several types of probiotics for gut health. I stayed so bloated it hurt to bend over. The last few days I started to feel like my old self and a lot of distension is gone or at least better to the point I have some appetite again and more energy. I have not been taking this very long so I am happy so far with the effectiveness and my improvement. I have had a lot of GI surgery and suffer from autoimmune digestive disease since teens and I am over 65. I have not found too many meds or supplements that made a big difference at all let aline in under 10 days. I will continue taking this and pray things stay this well or even better. I am impressed thus far and hopeful.

I would give this product five stars for doing exactly what it says it will do: dumping 40 billion live bacteria into your small intestine. But I would highly recommend considering whether that is a good thing or not. The American Gastroenterologist's Association released some guidelines two years ago after reviewing the impact of probiotics on a variety of gut pathologies and found very few cases in which they were beneficial (check their website for the article!). Many reviewers have complained about fever, cramping, diarrhea, fatigue, gas, etc. with this product, which isn't surprising as that is your body's response to an invasion of foreign bacteria, a self-induced SIBO as it were. I began changing my diet a few weeks before trying this product (less sugar, higher fiber) in anticipation of getting as much benefit out of it as possible, little realizing I was already adjusting the environment to make my native gut bugs happy, making the addition of 40 billion extra guests rather moot. I started out slow, half a capsule twice a day and was fine but also noticed no improvement in GI symptoms or overall health (12+ years of leaky gut and IBS), then I gradually worked up to the full 2 capsules daily recommended dose and was likewise fine for about a week, with no appreciable improvement in anything save what I had noticed from my dietary changes alone. After about a week of the full dose I started getting sick and cut the probiotic, and I was fine again. I tried another capsule a few days later and was again ill. If you are going to take a probiotic, this is definitely one to take, as far as price, number of live cultures, and its ability to get into the small intestine unscathed, but do you really need one? It is more work and far more difficult to change your lifestyle, but you can promote a naturally health gut by eating right, cutting out anything you are sensitive too (a blood test is helpful), and you don't risk making yourself ill by swallowing a ton of live bacteria that won't be killed off by your stomach acid, even 'good' bacteria can be harmful in high numbers!

BioSchwartz has been a winner in my daily diet since my trip abroad to Tajikistan in 2015. I was working with fruit farmers for three weeks, traveling to a different village and orchard each day. Meals were of course varied, and standard Tajik foods. Amazing diversity but always unknown questions about source and cleanliness of cook and kitchen, water, etc. I had gotten sick on several previous trips. Since the FDA provides no regulation of the supplements industry, meaning many people don’t actually get the supplements they pay for, the guarantee that an independent laboratory certifies their products is why I buy my probiotics from Schwartz. I highly recommend these. I have no trouble swallowing them and they have no discernible taste. Modern diets and medications have dramatically diminished the bacteria our gut requires to function properly. Probiotics replace that normal bacteria to quickly restore normal functioning. Try them for a month, starting at 1 capsule a day, then increasing to 2 tablets a day. Take each tablet with a meal, the first with breakfast or lunch, the second with dinner. You’ll be amazed.
