LIFE SAVER - AMAZING QUALITY
This is an incredible durable lifesaver. Wife just home from rehab unit and her main concern was to not use a commode or bed pan and be able to take a shower. Well, this was it - a perfect fit. And the narrow wheelbase made it fit easily into our bathroom without even taking the door down. Great narrow strong reliable unit. It was so easy to assemble ( just 2 major parts really ) and it was and remains the best medical help transport I ever saw. It fit right over our elongated bowl and I cannot praise this chair enough. IT SAVED OUR REHAB AT HOME - and I told the nursing rehab facility how great it was and they will be ordering. The secret is the narrowness but strength in the unit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. And, they shipped it fast as I needed asap. Thank you MedMobile !

Not a bad chair, but could be improved
Not a bad chair, but the quality is a little missing. Pros: 1) Overall very functional 2) Good brakes (comes with 4, not 2) 3) Decent casters (metal ball bearings) 4) Nice to have foot rests 5) Mfg seems to stand by product Cons: 1) Chair came out of the box with some parts needing bending to align correctly (Mfg was nice enough to refund some money for the inconvenience) 2) Color is not as pictured (pink) on Amazon - more of a maroon, if it matters 3) Seat is very hard and uncomfortable 4) Brakes are a little difficult to apply and disengage (I started wearing sandals in the shower to make it easier) 5) Water tends to collect inside the armrests. Overall, not great, but we're happy to have it, and comparatively, it seems a reasonable price.

Meeting Our Needs
This chair was purchased for my 90 year old mother who has dementia, osteoarthritis in the knees and weighs about 150. Sturdy well made chair, 4 good wheel locks, rolls pushes forward okay are low carpet/rugs, rolls better when pulling the person backwards, large seat and enough room between the arm rest to be comfortable. This chair is narrow enough to fit into our bathroom where none of our other wheelchairs can. I wish we would have known about this chair a couple of years ago. Dropdown arms allows easier transfer from bed to commode (we are also using a transfer disc). This shower/commode chair is working for what we needed (a commode on wheels). Don't really plan to use it as a shower chair, however we do bathe her while she is on it. The draw backs are: 1. Seat is somewhat hard (we added a 4 inch padded raised toilet seat to get around this issue). 2. Leg rest are almost to short for my 5'4 mother (with or without the extra padded seat). 3. Front wheels are sometimes in the way when the person is trying to sit (I always check, turn them out of the way and then re-lock). 4. The depth of the seat you must make sure the person is sitting back far enough on the chair otherwise you will have leaks on the floor ( we use a disposable under pad underneath the front seat opening). 5. It's heavy, should have been made out of aluminum. 6. Poor assembly instructions for putting on the arms, but it wasn't to difficult with my neighbors help. Other comments: It's nice that the commode can be emptied while the person is still sitting, however beware the person buttocks may be hanging down further than what you would expect (the padded raised toilet seat is helping us with that issue). I've order an additional pail, so it can be switched out while the other is being emptied and cleaned. It seems like most medical equipment is never 100%, however I'm satisfied with this purchase and it's meeting our needs.

LOVE this chair--strong, sturdy, fun and practical
This chair has been a LIFESAVER to help us help my 88-year-old mother who has Alzheimer's. We use this chair every day. My mother is about 190 pounds and this is an excellent, sturdy chair. We looked at the chairs made of plastic tubing them but rejected them because they did not seem sturdy enough AND we wanted a chair with removable foot rests so that we could easily roll her from her bedroom into the shower and back. This chair is made of sturdy red-enameled metal. My mother thinks it looks like a fire engine and loves the chair. I disagree with the reviewer who said that the potty bowl fills up with water in the shower. That's not the chair's fault. We use the potty bowl in the bedroom and remove it when we use the chair in the shower. It slides in and out easily from the rear of the chair seat. This chair is well worth the money--high quality construction, easy to assemble, sturdy and much-loved by the user.

Sharp edges entire front including caster locks. Seat is too high, have to lift client to transfer.
Sharp edges entire front including caster locks. Seat is too high, have to lift client to transfer. Seat is not comfortable. I tried it myself and all those edges the caster locks the tabs for the footrest banged my shins. I ran over my toes with the casters while getting in and while setting client in. They need to be set back and away. The casters, although large, still catch on any little tile edge or threshold.

The best!
Well worth the money. This chair will turn easily and is stable. Was perfect for my husband when he couldn't transfer easily. Used it for showering and toileting. I am a nurse and have used many different styles and brands, this is the best and the safest.

Dissatisfied Customer
My low rating of this commode has to do in part with the seller not giving me instructions for how to assemble the arm assembly, even when I specifically asked. All they did was send a picture. And when I said that wasn't satisfactory, they never replied again. The commode itself seems pretty sturdy but it's too high for us. Only about 1/2" too high but it renders it too high to be usable. The other extreme irritant is the design. Why would the design engineers design an open front (good for a male) and install a ROUND bucket instead of an OVAL bucket which would cover the part a male would use and the bucket doesn't even catch it .... ???? Our use of this product was as a bedside commode, not a shower chair. This purchase for us represents $169 wasted unless we can swap out the wheels. Even then, who wants a wet floor?
