Prior to I did not use a promoter as a result my dash cracked at the repair. Let's see if it stays together now :-)

I purchased the Polyvance 2000T filler to make repairs on the flexible bumper and rocker covers for my Chevy Impala. I have considerable experience with this type of repair, I'm not a novice. When I ordered the Polyvance filler a recommendation for the filler prep adhesion promoter came up. Of course this seemed like a good idea so I bought the adhesion promoter too. I applied the adhesion promoter to the repair area exactly according to instructions before applying the filler. I allowed the filler to cure overnight. When I sanded the filler the edges of the repair would not feather out, this is an indication of poor adhesion. I scraped off the filler with a putty knife and started over. Another application using the adhesion promoter gave the same poor results. As an experiment I applied the filler without using the adhesion promoter and then it feathered out perfectly. This adhesion promoter has solvents that should soften the plastic and help adhesion. But it also has a "proprietary resin" in it. I believe the resin causes the problem. Anyway, the Polyvance filler is a good product that worked for me. But all that was required to get good results is to rough the repair surface with 80 grit sandpaper, then blow the dust off thoroughly with compressed air, then apply the filler and let it harden overnight. Then sand it to shape and rough feather with 80 grit, then finish feather it with something finer like 120 grit. That's all it took. The adhesion promoter actually caused poor adhesion. So save your money. Buy the filler only and skip the adhesion promoter. You will get better adhesion without the adhesion promoter.

The package came wrapped in multiple layers of plastic bags. I regret opening it indoors because the smell was horrendous. Everything had spilled out and I didn't get to use any of it. Very disappointing

I’m giving this product 3 stars because while it does the job, it comes with a few drawbacks. The filler hardens very quickly, leaving little working time. Once dried, it’s extremely tough to sand down and creates a lot of dust, which makes it impractical to use inside a vehicle unless you’re prepared for a major cleanup. It may work better on older cars or dashboards with fewer contours, but for detailed or interior work it’s not ideal.
