Shoreline Marine Hydrofoil 2pc Black

Mounted this foil on my 2006 Mercury 2 stroke outboard pushing my 12' flat bottom jon boat. Before, it would not get on plane. With the foil, it jumped up on plane and the speed increased 3 fold (from maybe 5 mph to a clocked 17 mph). Once on plane, I could throttle back and it would maintain plane at 1/2 throttle. Some complain of the bolts being too short but they worked fine for my application.

easy to install on my 35hp Evinrude, and sturdy. This hydrofoil actually works as advertised, helps my 16' aluminum boat jump up on plane faster, and at a slower speed. Also keeps bow down, no need for that 25# weight up front anymore. Recommend 100%.

Doesn't fit my Mercury 8 HP motor. Will try trimming the inside edges to match motor shape.

This made my 16' Fiberglas fishing boat with a 20hp OB plane out much faster. Easy install.Long story short my engine is mounted about 1.5" too high and would suck in air and not plane out. This solved the problem!

I installed these and have only had the boat out a couple times. So far it has really done what it says. Before I installed them my boat could turn on a dime, which is very dangerous considering it has a low profile and the last time I did that I sent my daughter flying across the boat. So it's controlled that a bit and the hole shot is good as well.

Works good, but the included bolts were not long enough.

I had a foil like this on my 17' center console/90 Yamaha when I bought it secondhand. The foil was pretty warped due to sun damage, so I removed it. I know now why the previous owner had installed it. This restored the boat to planing off quicker and without having to have everyone move to the front to help it. Also put an end to the porpoising and smoothed out the ride, much better ride control in waves... now the boat cuts through them instead of being tossed in the air. I think you can spend a lot more on this item, but won't get better results.

For $35, you can expect a little flex and basic design, but they work great on both my Honda 15hp 4 strokes and Johnson 20hp 2 strokes. They can be hard to line up nicely, but they still work even if crooked a little. Haven't hit anything with them but I reckon they would distant most medium hit, like a propeller can take a little abuse. The mounting slot is wide enough to fit thick cavitation plates.

I am just replacing the old ones but they do the trick.

Gotta say for the price and the fact that they're plastic I wasn't expecting much when I installed this kit on my Johnson 70hp outboard. Noticed a difference in the holeshot immediately. I think one of the big aluminum ones I originally wanted would still do better but honestly for the price they do work well. I tested them all weekend pulling the kids around on a tube behind the boat so they were put through their paces. They are plastic but surprisingly rigid.

Modified it by cutting the edges to fit my 6hp Tohotsu, it takes some time to get it to fit. It is on not as strait as the pic, but the performance on the 12 foot tin boat unbelieveable. Plans the boat out right away it is like a new boat, Best thing I bought this year.

Very easy to install. Boat comes out of the water better especially towing someone. Better milage and didn't loose any MPH
