Decent power supply at a good price
Looking for an easy to use, all purpose variable power supply at a cheap price? I have used this one for a variety of hobby projects and it works well. Good deal for the price. Couple of notes: When powering off it takes a few seconds for the voltage to drop. This is common in a lot of power supplies. Just note that the drop to zero is not instantaneous. Also, it doesn't come with any cables so you may want to get yourself a pair of all purpose banana clip cables although the terminals are screw type so you can just connect a stripped wire to them if you prefer. Or you can get the banana plugs and add your own cable wires: 1 Pair Atlona 4mm Gold Speaker Wire Cable Banana Plugs Connectors

Perfect price for a light job unit
It is just what you would expect in a small inexpensive power unit. It's well made, works for long hours without heating up. I did not buy the unit to keep on continuously for days on end and have not tested it thus so. On the negative side, I wouldn't want to mistakenly drop it because it may crack the casing or break the unit. Good for powering small electronics normally used in the car.

Stay away from anything that says it is good for tattooing
Think about your intended use for this power supply. I bought two of them that i hoped to use for electronics ie: designing computer circuits along with some analog circuits. I am a retired electronics engineer and just like to keep my mind active. Anyway, one unit operates pretty well the second unit might be good for tattooing but I doubt even that. The thing has intermittent noise levels in excess of .1 volts I don't think it would even make a good paper weight, it is not heavy enough. If I hadn't thrown out the original box I can assure you Amazon would be eating this one. A hobbyist should shy away from this one, it will cause very unexpected things to happen and you would end up wasting a lot of time. Opt for a little more expensive unit and save yourself a lot of headaches. On the plus side, the rubber feet are nice, the power cord is not bad and the case is a nice size. Sorry but that is it. I will most likely open this unit and inspect for flaws like bad solder joints etc.

Great little power supply
It's cheap, reliable, and fits my needs for helping me out in my circuits class. Quick Note: This power supply actually doesn't look like the one in the picture. It's only 4.5" wide(this is the front panel) x 5" long(side panel) x 2.25" high. The variable knob is placed right on top of the positive and negative terminals. The on/off switch is vertical not horizontal as in the picture. Judging by the image provided, it looks to be about 7" wide along the front panel, but its really only 4.5". It's the same power supply and same model, its just the way it looks is a little different. But I'm not complaining because it still delivers!

Good adjustable PS, died after 10 months
Using for battery charging small 12v. Seems to provide over 15V and 2A if needed, up to 3-4A, before cut-out. No problems so far. I basically do not read/use the volt meter, although it is somewhat in the ball park. Update: went to hook this up one day and the POS and NEG outputs have shorted together. Dangerous for battery hookup or anything that will not tolerate an input short. Traced the fault back to this unit and within the circuit card - however I see no soldering problems or burnt component/trace indications. Bad design. Downgraded my review to 2 stars from 4 since it is unreliable and the $40 is a waste given it lasted only 10 months.

Good Function, Poor Enclosure Fit
Product functions as advertised. However, the construction fit of the case is not of high quality. The case is molded plastic with 2 halves being a top and bottom (this can actually be seen in the product photo). Neither side is a perfect flush fit and one side does not align in the front of the unit and there is approx. 1/16 inch gap 1/3 of the way along the seam. This is a poor fit. It doesn't bother my application but if I saw this on a store shelf I'd look for another unit of better external construction.

Great little voltage supplies
I wouldn't trust the dial to read out accurate voltage, but these come with the power cord to the wall and are complete and ready to use. Great for teaching electronics. You'll need to buy some bulbs that can take up to 15 volts (or a bit more according to my cheap multimeters). Easy to use. I gave these to high school students and they managed to break about one every two weeks. I'm not sure what happens but there's some sort of short, where you click it on and the dial goes straight up to the maximum voltage and burns out whatever resistor you have connected. A friend was able to fix it by opening up the back, but I haven't looked into it and I'm not sure what causes it.

Tekpower HY152A variable power supply
This small power supply is all that is needed for most home needs I can think of. While this PSA supplements others I have, this power supply could be all many could use as sole general purpose power supply. Although there is just one coarse voltage adjustment, this product allows fine adjustments that are much better than more expensive power supplies in sub $100 range also with one (coarse) voltage adjustment. I prefer using this over HY-1803 in some work in the 12V+ range, which results in much more radical voltage changes just nudging its single coarse voltage control. The analog voltmeter is well calibrated, but realistically, your own digital voltmeter should be used for precise adjustment. The lack of ammeter is not an issue for what I use this product for. I routinely hook up my own ammeter (multimeter) anyway to measure the small currents. For some of my work, the power supply current is less than 10 mA, making power supplies with 2-decimal digital readouts useless in such work. The plastic case of this power supply is a simple project box that is more than enough. Interestingly, this inexpensive supply accepts up to 253VAC input. I was unsure if this little supply is a switching supply or linear. It is linear. Hams or those powering video work should not have any RF noise issues.

Small and compact
Great little power supply for light electronics work. Small and compact for easy storage.
