I was mistaken. The surface of this board is Bamboo and I have come to find it really is one of the best surfaces for cutting out there. We use a cutting board on a daily basis to do this, and honestly, the last one we had began to show real ware. This board just wiped off and looked as thought we just bought for the first time.
