If you don’t have the same flowers, she suggests what to get instead. The author shares how to turn your treasure hunts and ordinary containers into stylish special vases. She also clearly shows how to make arrangements with these materials so you can develop your own ideas how to use them. She also shares great professional tips on how to stylize your wedding. If you plan on doing your own small wedding, this advice is very handy. I collect interior and floral books from many designers, many of which are truly just too beautiful coffee table books. But I feel ‘Handpicked’ is not just beautiful to look at, but also more approachable. If you want a natural, well lived look instead of just a beautifully posed look, I highly recommend this book to give your home or special day an extra touch; it has that kind of warmth in it. After you read it, you feel like you go pick flowers from your garden or grocery store and start to make Flemish master-like floral arrangements.

Saw this at a gift shop and knew I wanted one for my daughter and for myself. Well written, easy to follow, lots of examples of vases, pots, tins, etc and a good primer on how to build a bouquet with short flowers, tall flowers, sturdy flowers, delicate flowers - basically, anything you or a neighbor might grow in your yard, or that you might buy at the flower market. This will make a great reference book for your home library.

The book shares all the secrets: how to care for flowers, must-have tools, Ingrid's fave flowers and her practical tips and trick. 2/3 of the book teaches how to make arrangements. Easy to read easy to learn with massive amount of cool pics. Best gift, best coffee table book, best flower arrangement textbook. Timeless &fresh! Tons of value &tons of inspiration.

The floral arrangements in this book are lush and soulful. Carozzi is a proponent of the "Dutch Masters" trend in floral arrangement, and I am all for that! I love the loose, shaggy abundance of this style. And she does an excellent job of scaling this often over-the-top style into smaller, more doable projects for the home florist. However, there is one discordant note for me in these arrangements: the vessels. I understand that the author wants to encourage recycling, but MUST we put our beautiful blooms in rusted tin cans, stained crates and chipped mason jars??? For me, the arrangements in this book say "heaven," while the vessels say "dump." It is perfectly possible to go to thrift stores and flea markets and come away with a used, but still very pretty glass or ceramic vase. Surely these arrangements deserve at least that.

Lovely book with lots of pretty pictures and simple (but elegant) easy to follow floral design recipes. I think this one is a great choice for a beginner looking to learn the basics of flower arranging with limited ingredients. In particular I found it to easy to envision the arrangements with alternative flower choices, and apply the basic concepts to my own designs.

This book is as beautiful as it is useful! It includes full-page spreads of arrangements for every season and artfully demonstrates the inclusion of herbs, vegetables, and even fruit. It’s also wonderful to see methods of sustainability folded into the practice of working with flowers. This book is great to work with on a personal or professional level, I highly recommend it.

Beautiful book! It is pretty enough to add to my coffee table collection but don't be fooled because you just might learn something! The arrangements are even more beautiful than the book and the instructions are easy to follow. It feels like a friend is giving you instructions! The best part is how genuine the book feels even though the arrangements are sophisticated. Not pretentious at all.

Besides having extremely beautiful pictures to look at there was informative facts on flowers and simple guidelines on how to create the gorgeous arrangements which I loved.
