I honestly thought I was buying a name and wouldn't really notice any difference. the best part of these is that you don't have to use them so much because they hold tune.

What can I say that hasn't been said? I had a ES-355 copy that had fake Grovers. These were a direct drop in replacement. It made a world of difference in tuning.

Be advised, these tuners are genuine Grovers not the phony knockoffs. There are youtube vids that can help you tell the difference.The 102 18 to 1 ratio is the best. The initial 18 micro turns per revolution really locks in the strings. The gold colored Grovers look great on my guitar. You can see your face in the mirrored finish. I easily put them on my pal, my 27 year old Epiphone Sheraton II (the poor man's Gibson 335) that frequently goes out of tune with its 24.75 inch short scale. I use a combo 9 and 10 gauge strings. Don't want to go with heavier gauge strings. Pleased to say the Grovers have really helped. Delivery was also fast. Great with any guitar but I recommend Grovers and this vendor especially with a short scale guitar. Grovers can really help from frequently going out of tune. Should have bought Grovers years ago.

I installed the Grover 102-18g rotomatics on my Gibson Songwriter and right away noticed a big difference. My guitar came with the 102-14g rotomatics which are excellent tuners, however after two maybe three years the G tuner wouldn't stay in tune especially after bending notes on the G string. I ordered the 18g's which are identical in appearance to the 14g's. Some may think there's not a lot of difference in the 14.1 ratio to the 18.1 ratio but the tuning seems smoother and more precise to me and well worth the few extra dollars to me. I hope this review will be helpful to someone.

I replaced the stock machine heads on an old Yamaha Compass guitar I have after one of the gears wore out. The new Grovers are solid and clearly well made. Replacement was easy - remember - use the right tools and it runs smoothly. New strings on and the guitar is back in action. The new heads turn very smoothly and allow precise tuning. What more do you want! If the guitar is ever damaged I'll take these machines heads off and use them again.

I bought these for a guitar I built. The parts kit I originally ordered were all cheaply made and I have been upgrading the components one at a time. The gold plating looks far nicer on these and most importantly - they stay in tune and have a very smooth action.

I bought these to replace the original ones on my 77 Gibson LP Custom. The originals were Schaller and were a lot more expensive and hard to find in stock and then they were still 12:1 ratio tuners. I wasn't thrilled about having to drill a new (albeit small) hole for the set screw, but it was worth it. These are smoother and way more accurate than the originals ever thought about being.

Hold the guitar in tune and look amazing

Excellent. They fitted very easily and look so more stylish than the pearlised plastic ones that were on the guitar.

Well this is the 2nd set I bought in a few years , the 1st set wasn’t to bad then after using them for few months the free play started on g string and b string, so I perchased a new set few weeks ago, and they are doing the same it makes it hard to to find tune , and they say there 18:1. So I’m starting to think there counterfeit or just bought by someone else taking them out of the package and putting them in and sending back. They look good but not what I expected from Grover. If your going to buy a set buy from long and macquad. Signed disappointed.

Was worried about receiving fakes, but these are definitely not. Genuine Grover’s through and through.Installed on my Yamaha FG-830 - simple remove and replace, no additional work required.
