Zak's Safari: A Story about Donor-Conceived Kids of Two-Mom Families Review: EXCELLENT RESOURCE AND STRONG SUPPORT FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN CONCEIVED THROUGH ART - Our kids love this book! It's such a fun captivating story and it explains conception in very easy, yet accurate terms. Love how it gives examples about all types of families and it bases all the families' decisions to have a child on love. Very well-written! Review: I think this book is great for all families as a very beginning primer conversation ... - I think this book is great for all families as a very beginning primer conversation to "how are babies made?" I think they should write more books from other couples' experiences to really illustrate how all families look different but with the same language and style. Great job. I am a single mother and share this story with my 4 year old who has really seemed to embrace the story well and hasn't put new ideas into his head that he is not yet ready for. I do adapt some of the language, ie to say "man" and "woman" as opposed to "mother" and "sperm donor."

Very well written!
This book does a great job explaining the process on a level my kids could understand (4 and 7). I have found other books but I wasn't comfortable with how detailed the message was, I wanted to leave some room for questions and thought process, this book was perfect. It was recommended to me and I would recommend to others.

Beautiful book
What a beautiful book! Gorgeous illustration, light and playful, and a great approach to the subject matter. Especially worth reading for those who still believe Zak is somehow different. He is just a normal little boy loved by his family.

Perfect book for explaining donor conception to young ones.
This book was perfect for my 7 year old. I don't agree with the review that says it is for kid's who have been through sex ed. We have always explained to our kids they it takes part of boy and part of girl to make a baby. Since we did not have the boy part, we got it from their donors. This was the perfect next step to build their understanding. As he gets older, I imagine he will be able to digest the information more and more. We have been looking for a book like this for a while and were so glad that you wrote it and made it available to us. Thank you!

Love!
My wife & I are about to have our first daughter in August and we bought this book for her library. It is a sweet book told by a child with a very positive view on life. We loved the illustrations and the storyline is precious. We also loved how it will reflect her family in a way that most books will not. We'd recommend to anyone with children.

Great for IVF babies
This is a great boon for any IUI, IVF, or donor conceived families. Itโs inclusive for all: single parents, same sex couples, and hetero couples. Love it to help teach our son how he came to be in a child friendly way!

Cute, inclusive, clear, and accurate.
I think this book was really well written. I appreciate the use of scientific terms and the clear no nonsense picture being painted in the story. This is a really good clear, engaging, factual book. Itโs both entertaining and informative.

Las ilustraciones son especialmente buenas, y la historia merece la pena. De lo mejor en este tipo de libros, lo recomiendo.

I love this book and have added it to my collection of stories about families. It is well written and illustrated and is factual and child friendly. Print quality of the cover is not as good as I expected from a book. It could be improved slightly.

Some books about marginalised families can be a bit on the nose or boring, but this one is neither! The drawings are charming and the story is easy and fun to read. It also doesn't get boring with repeat readings!
