I've been on this book for a few weeks now and have learned a bunch already.There is a shortage of exercises in this book aside from ascending and descending scales. Overall, the content is a bit dry. It's tough to stay motivated.The book quickly moves up the fretboard with major scales, but exercises in the different positions (besides V) are sparse. It would have been better to thoroughly cover C up and down the fretboard with exercises before moving on to the rest of the scales.The way it's presented, It feels like a boring trudge ascending and descending the fretboard so it's tough to stay motivated.The print feels a little small in places, but I felt that way about the first volume as well. I wish they'd decrease the margin size and increase the size of the staff/notes. The fidelity of the print isn't so great on some of the pages.Before I started volume 1 I couldn't read music at all, and I only knew a handful of notes on the fretboard and some basic scales. Now I can read decently and I know the notes up to and beyond the 12th fret.Admittedly I'm not a huge fan of the jazz guitar style, but I do think this series is excellent for learning guitar, as long as you're willing and motivated, and practice often, and move through the material without perfecting every page. Sometimes there are several days' worth of intense study opportunity on a single page. If you can internalize the material in this book, you should be able to play a lot of music on the guitar.
