Well made for DIY
Well made product. I use it to cut the bolt in between the toilet and the toilet tank. The bolt is hard to move even with wd 40. The length fits enough to reach the bolt. A good tool deserves a place in my mobile home. Saves me time and money for a plumber.

Good All-Around Multi-Saw
Cushion Handle feels good in the hand; and two blades work well for metal and wood. Good for those final touches to small home repairs. Plus fits nicely in the small Fix-It! Bag. ~ RHF

The uses are endless.
This type of tool is a must have for any tool box. I use mine constantly. Small detail woodcutting, flushcutting, pipecutting, pruning, sprinkler system repair, etc. A cheap and very multipurpose tool. The mounting on this particular tool could be a bit more robust, so I'm giving it 4 instead of 5.

Bendy but recip blades
Since this is just a handle, inserting a 10-inch blade will be very bendy and hard to make straight cuts. I bought it solely for the ability to fit reciprocating saw blades, which are more rigid than the 10-in blades I've seen. I have a box of those in various sizes and tpi, making this a good tool. I used to have the Milwaukee mini saw, and also purchased the discontinued Lennox mini saw. Both of those have an arm that extends about 4 inches, and then the blade continues for about two additional unsupported inches. So, 6 inches total on all three saws, give or take, of exposed blade (rest is in the handle). Doesn't take the place of a two-handled 12-inch hacksaw, but useful for short-stroke cuts. Of the three, the Milwaukee's tensioning mechanism is worth an additional $5, easily--but I did hate using it with the longer blade, finding, like other users, that it bent while I was traying to cut. Newbee complaint, I suspect.

Very useful saw for small jobs in tight locations
Great little saw for the price. I used the wood blade to trim some small branches from beneath dwarf spruce trees (up to ~3/4" diameter) and it worked perfectly in the limited space I had to work in. The blade did bend a couple of times as I was working, but that was due to my technique and the blade was easily bent straight again. It is very simple to switch between the two blades. I recommend this saw as an addition to a toolbox for small relatively light work, especially in close quarters.

This fits the bill nicely.
I got tired of wrapping shop towels around hacksaw blades and wearing gloves to prevent myself from sawing through my skin when I rigged something to hold a hacksaw blade. This fits the bill nicely.

Junk !
You have to tighten a set screw to hold blades in place and you bend the blades in the process. I don't want to cut with a blade at 30 degrees. Poorly designed? Unless I'm missing some pieces inside the handle?

Not what was pictured and not what I expected from Stanley!
The tool I received was the Stanley 'FatMax' version which is different from the one pictured. I cannot say definitively whether the pictured tool is better or worse, but I'll comment on the FatMax tool I received. It is VERY cheaply made and it rather surprised me that Stanley would put their name on this (I've always had good luck with the Stanley line inn the past). It seems to do 'okay' with pieces of hacksaw blade and light duty work, I planned to primarily use it with reciprocation saw blades (Sawzall, etc). The blades are not very firmly held in the chuck and wobble around, occasionally popping loose from the chuck when sawing. The chuck itself is not molded to the handle at all. It is held in place with two very tiny wood screws that screw into the plastic handle. These also wobble and the whole handle flexes when the tool is being used. Hard use WILL rip the chuck from the handle. It appears as if the handle was designed for a different tool altogether (or maybe a variety of tools), and that they added the chuck as an afterthought to create a different tool. Either way, this is NOT up to typical Stanley quality. Disappointed!
