**Q: Is this the short pump that fits in the driver's side mounted tank?**
A: This pump fits all ranges of tanks, it's spring loaded, I put this in a 198 tahoe and 1999 1/2 ton chevy pickup , fit both kinds of tanks perfect still going strong, maybe 7 years now.

**Q: Is this one worth it since i hear the original pumps typically fail or is the more expensive one worth it and will it for sure fit the 99 tahoe lt 2wd**
A: My last fuel pump lasted 250k miles and 20 years old. I'm sticking with the original. Was tempted by the cheaper models. It was a lot of work to get the gas tank out and only wanted to do this job once. The quality looks good on this pump and comes with the new style electrical connector. Worth the price IMHO.

**Q: dose this new pump not get a filter ? i do not see on the bottom of the housing where it would go..if it dose need one do u have a size or part number**
A: I had to return mine because the filter did not fit properly

**Q: Will this fit 2000 tahoe limited 2wd 5.7 engine? I see amazon saying it dosnt fit but is compatible when i serch it on ebay.**
A: Yes, with some simple mods.  Can't remember exactly what but mine ended up not being a working unit anyway and I had to send it back.

I suggest additional information in the post because it looks different and missing parts due to the new design I called AC Delco and spoke with customer support. Apparently the new MU1777 pump assembly has the strainer built inside the unit. The old strainer cannot be installed on the new unit. And FYI - the old pump assembly had (3) posts that the springs were loaded against. The new pump assembly has only two.

it works but wasn't exactly like the stock one I removed. Some modifications had to be made but it worked in the end.
