GAU-80508 Jumbo Traditional Natural Caldero for Cooking and Serving, 18 Quart, Silver

This pan has excellent quality and a very large size, perfect for special cooking needs. My stove measures 35 inches wide by 23 inches deep, and while the pan fits well, it takes up most of the space, leaving little room for other pots. I chose the 18-quart (jumbo) size, so it’s important to consider your stove’s dimensions to ensure the pan sits securely and to avoid accidents. The material allowed me to deep fry up to four medium fish or three large ones at once. It distributes heat very well, resulting in even cooking throughout. It also comes with a lid, making it versatile for other dishes like rice, stews, and more. The material feels durable and is relatively easy to clean. However, due to its size and weight, it’s not suitable for small portable induction stoves. It works much better on larger stovetops or portable gas burners. Overall, a great choice if you need a large, high-capacity pan for cooking big meals. Follow de video instructions to make it non-stick.

Finally, the perfect rice pot! I love cooking Spanish rice and was in search of the perfect pot after trying 2 other pots that didn’t work out. Only negative is the handles get very hot so I had to use pot holders. Other than that it is a great size. The photo below is 2 1/2 cups of rice. Overall I’m very happy with the pot.

I don’t know if it’s the lid, or is it the pot, but they don’t fit together. But I’ll give 5 stars because this is my second pot I brought from this brand and I love it. I can work with it.

The IMUSA Caldero is the cheapest option for cooking Caribbean style rice with that specific kind of pot. It is approximately 8 1/4 inches in diameter (2 Qt. And sufficient for 1 to 3 people), made of aluminum single piece construction, where the handles are not bolted on but rather part of the unibody cast in one piece, which means that they get very hot when you’re cooking. The pot has sharp edges, a rough embossed bottom, which will definitely scratch any glass-top cooking surface, and the lid has a screw-on knob (plastic ?) that never gets hot during cooking. The pot arrived wrapped in plastic with minor grease stains on the inside of the lid and pot. This is clearly not a premium product, but it is affordable and works acceptably well. Even though I seasoned the pot with a light coating of oil and letting it heat up, twice, there was still a bit of sticking of the rice. This is fairly typical and not a problem. Whatever doesn’t come out in the serving, will be loosened by letting it soak overnight with a bit of water. Although I am not happy with the rough finish and scratchy bottom of the pot, it does work really well. It is good values for money IF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO SEASON the pot. Seasoning the caldero does help the cooking process and you will get less sticking. I have cooked traditional “rice and beans” twice with it with great results. If you don’t expect a premium product, you will be pleased.

The IMUSA Mini Colombian Caldero is excellent quality for its size. It heats evenly, is sturdy, and perfect for cooking small portions or serving food. The traditional design is beautiful and practical for everyday use. Very satisfied with this purchase! 🍲

I've been waiting to get this pot for years.. and finally ordered one. The first one was too small (4.5 qtz), and the lid didn't fit. You could see the dent in the pot it self. So I returned it and ordered the 7.5 qt. Perfect size.. but AGAIN the lid won't set right!! Just be prepared that you may get one that doesn't line up with the lid.. Get some foil!

I absolutely love this pot! It's a great size, cooks evenly, and it's not too heavy. The only bad thing is the label! It's difficult to get the label adhesive off the side of the pot.

Amazing for west indian cooking, good heat distribution, no complaints.
