Returned the product to suppler. **Q: Does it contain any metal components?** A: Hi. From what I can see the connecting rods as well as the main pieces are all made from plastic. However, for reassurance, I'm no lightweight and I've used it routinely for a year without anybproblems and wouldn't be without it **Q: What are the measurements when folded** A: I dont actually know the size when folded as it is packed up in our motorhome . It folds really flat and it is very light and very sturdy a good buy,I got it because I had a knee operation and had trouble climbing steps so the extra step is very handy. **Q: Do you think this would help a dog climb into a high boot or is it a bit unstable, thanks** A: Depends on size of dog. I had a westie and with her the problem would have been too big a stretch between steps.
