I'm actually making progress.
I've had social anxiety since middle school (I'm 23 now) and never knew how to overcome it. My parents tried to help, but they didn't really understand what I was going through. This book is invaluable to me, because it finally helped me understand why I have such strong fears of social interaction, and also told me how to overcome it. If you have social anxiety and want to try to get over it, this book is the prefect start.

Warning - this is a scam!
Warning! This is a scam. This man (if he exists?) is preying on people at their most vulnerable and using despicable hard sell techniques and tricks to get them to part with money. I googled how to overcome social anxiety on behalf of a close relative and was appalled at the web of temptation and deception on his web-site. I ended up being notified that I had signed up for a newsletter and would pay through something called Clickbank which I could easily cancel. I tried to cancel and could not contact anyone. I now do not know if they have somehow got hold of my bank details. If I suffered from social anxiety myself, this would be a nightmare. Sean Cooper, if you exist, prove it. And explain how, if you really suffered from social anxiety once, you are so happy to rip off fellow sufferers of this horrible condition. And, to actually tell people with social anxiety not to seek professional help. This is irresponsible greed taking advantage of really vulnerable people who DO need professional help. Please, if you are suffering from social anxiety, seek professional help from a qualified, registered counsellor through your doctor or somewhere you can trust. You can get better with hard work and CBT. Or look at other self help books - there are plenty around, which do not try to rip people off when they are vulnerable.

Easy to relate to and understand
Easy to relate to and understand, especially for those with social anxiety. I like the straightforward honestythat comes across from someone who's actually experienced social anxiety. This manual contains lots of insights,some C.B.T. work, mindfulness, and other helpful suggestions that need to be practiced in order to become more socially at ease,but as the manual states,"it's not enough to know all the info, you must go and apply it." Thanks Sean!

A quick read with excellent tips that already seem to work for me when applied into practice. It explained the exact cause of my shyness, helped me understand the root of my problem for the first time, providing guidance on decreasing anxiety in everyday social situations. Would recommend the book to anyone whose life is affected by problems ranging from minor shyness, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, inferiority complex, to severe social anxiety.

easy to read and reread. very helpful and explanative book. has given me a lot of food for thought.now need to put into practice, easier said than done but this book gives me the boost that I need
