11yo daughter who is a violinist of 3 years and now dabbling in banjo likes this a lot. Helping her learn more technique than she could from youtube videos + supports what she learned from youtube, and the collection of songs is satisfying.

My banjo lessons instructor recommended this book to me. It has lots of great exercises and songs for a beginner to get started.

Was reviewing my style and fingering. Helped set.me straight.

East to follow and understand, great CD enclosed to play along with, goes step by step to help improve technique - I have other books that are okay but don't include enough practical ideas - good seller too - book arrived faster than advertised !

I think this is likely to be useful, but it's too soon to tell. It starts our a bit more technical than I had hoped. I won't be proficient at the instrument for some time.

Fun book. Caplinger is a marvelous instructor.

Received this from England in about 10 days to 2 weeks but the dvd was damaged out of the box. There are places on the dvd where the picture stops and jumps around.

I found this book interesting and a valuable addition for the banjo player library. It has a good CD which covers all the exercises. It is listed as one of the important and helpfull books on banjo.

I'm an absolute beginner and am finding this book very easy to understand.The cd is fine (I thought it was a dvd, which would of been better) you have to trust your ear and keep playing the pieces back aging and again to get it right which can be difficult depending on what your playing it on.But all in all I'm very happy.After 6 weeks I'm just about to play my first Song!?

I have only just started to read through this book. Fortunately I have a small level of reading music so this helps; although it does stipulate this at the start of the book. It comes with CD as well, which is very helpful as you get to hear how the chords etc should sound.

I bought this on recommendation of my banjo tutor. For me a beginner It is very informative and clear to understand.
