Mountains: 25 Devotionals with Jake Luhrs Paperback – July 20, 2018

This is the best devotional I've ever dug into. Jake is soo down to earth and relatable. It truly speaks to me. Each day's read is only 2-3 pages, but packed with wisdom and food for thought. Im really impressed with what a man of God Jake is.

This is such an amazing book from an amazing human being. If you’re having troubles with faith, even if you don’t believe at all, I encourage everyone to to read this book. It really makes you reflect on your own past and look into your future, mainly what you hold dear to your heart. I’ll admit that I claim to be a Christian and a follower, but know I’m a sinner. But this book put a test on my faith in God, and it really made me feel human knowing that there are so many others like me in this world who struggle, and definitely way worse than I could ever imagine. If you look at this review I really hope it helps because like I said earlier, I encourage everyone to at least read a few chapters.

This book is an easy read and feels like you’re talking to a friend. It’s informative and educational but honest and real. I respected Jake Luhrs already but this book took it to a whole new level. It helped me secure my faith and is something I’ll continue to read and complete the activities. Very grateful to have found this book and read it in a day!Also- check out his band ‘August Burns Red’ they’re amazing!

In my life I've felt myself slipping away from my faith. Not on purpose, but just because life gets so busy and sometimes it's easier to ignore issues than to really focus on them and and pray on them. I realized that I missed having a relationship with God and so I ordered this book. After the first chapter I knew I would love it. The chapters have me reflecting on a certain part of my life and taking a moment to pray on it. Once a day I open the book to the day I'm on and just spend 30-45 minutes reading and in reflective prayer. It's put a lot of things in perspective for me and it is so wonderful to read this and feel like a friend is there guiding me. Jake did a wonderful job with this book. He is honest, real, and raw. If he wasn't I don't think I'd like this book as much. No matter where you are in life this book is for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I really wanted to read this book from cover to cover, but I found myself needing help in different aspects in my life. This caused me to jump around and read out of order. I’m extremely glad I did because each devotional is the perfect length with great follow up questions which helped put my mind at ease in regards to the issues I was dealing with in that moment. Even after I’ve read this book cover to cover it will always sit on my coffee table. I’ve handed it to guests as they’ve come over and I find myself referencing it often. Amazing read

So thankful for this devotional. I've been facing some pretty big mountains and every day I read from this devotional it helps me, grows me, guides me, and lets me hear from God in a way I desperately needed to. Super easy format to follow. Only takes me a few minutes to complete each day, but it's impactful enough to have me reflecting on that day's message all day, if not days later. Gives insight into August Burns Red's history, too, which was cool. Highly recommend for everyone--Christians/non-Christians, people who are a fan of ABR/people who aren't, people facing difficult challenges/people in a season where things are going pretty well, etc.

Such a gut-honest and fearless account of what has taken place in Jake's adult life journey after becoming a child of the very One who gives life. A story very much similar to my own - born again at 17, was a musician/member of a musical group signed to Rise Records for a time, now 30 years old and doing my best to continue growing in God's grace and the Holy Spirit each day. I know that this book/devotional will help show many people what life can REALLY look like when struggles arise and seasons grow dark - all from a very unique perspective.You are so loved Jake, and thank you to everyone who put their time, care, and love into making this devotional for us all. What a gift it is!

He's a huge fan and is exploring his spirituality and God. He has really enjoyed this book.

I ordered this for my friend's sons baptism and he is really enjoying reading it.

Bought as a Christmas gift for my hubby, a big fan of ABR. So far he says it’s a good read. Hoping Jake has more writing coming out in the future.

This is a great book! Easy to read . Jake Luhrs honesty is really encouraging

Still reading through it, but already love how raw Jake is with the readers. Plan on reading this a few times through. A reminder that we are all sinners and fall short, but have an amazing Savior. Thanks Jake!
