In my opinion, they play plenty loud enough without distortion. Have realistic expectations on your factory sound system, and you won't be disappointed. Replacing the front door speakers on my 2005 Silverado with the 6.5" units was a snap. I drilled 7/64" pilot holes and used the supplied screws to install the new speakers. Works perfectly.
