The media could not be loaded.  My old toaster had died and I wanted a new one, this time I paid attention to a couple of things like width of the slots in case I wanted bagels, this one covered that easy enough but the wife insisted it "look good in my kitchen" which made me have to look harder until I found this one, no fingerprint finish on the sides and a shiny chrome look down the middle. I had to admit it did look good sitting there and it also had an actual storage area for the cord another thing I had forgotten about that drove me crazy (see picture).Something I had never thought about was an actual pictorial that shows what the toast looks like at different settings, I did not have to burn a couple of pieces to find out where the "sweet spot" was (see picture)So in the video I did a couple of Pop-Tarts since I was hungry and the book said they cook on the lowest (fastest) setting and they came out perfect (see video).So I can't complain about anything except learned not to put the pop-Tarts down on the sides because then you have to use 2 hands to get them out, 1 to pull the handle up and the other to grab the item. Just to let you know that if you put something that is rectangle shaped stand it so it stands highest to make it easy to get to, for toast it is not a problem.5 Stars for a great looking, great performing, and ultimately functional toaster.

I got this on sale, for 29.99. I was worried, because of the reviews, but it seems there are all sorts of problems with every toaster on Amazon if you dive into the reviews. So I decided on this one, and there are a couple things to know about it before buying.For the first few uses there will be a burning oil/plastic smell. I couldn't smell it unless I was standing right beside the toaster. It goes away over time.Next, it doesn't toast perfectly each side every time, but sometimes it does, and also you need to make sure to place the bread in the center as best you can. I had one piece to the edge of the toaster and it started to smoke and burn, but that's why there is a cancel button. It toasts mostly evenly, although sometimes it toasts somewhat unevenly. It's not a big deal to me, I just want something that toasts my bread, and this pretty much does the job. It's even enough for me.The toaster gets warm but I generally don't go touching hot metal objects, just like I wouldn't touch my oven with my bare fingers. The times I do end up touching it, my fingers are fine, and I don't feel my safety threatened in any way.Would I buy again? There are so many toasters I might consider trying a different one, but this one is good enough for me until it breaks. It's only been a couple weeks so if it breaks any time soon I'll be updating my review. It's a toaster I'll settle for at $30, a solid 4/5 in my book.

This toaster is excellent! The only negative comment I have concerns the cheap-looking plastic knobs. They really detract from the quality look of the machine and also feel like they will easily break. If those were replaced with quality parts, this toaster would be a full 5 stars.

It's not easy to find a good toaster that can hold its temperature consistently with each use nor to find one in the price range I was willing to go that offered extra wide slots, lift lever, removable crumb tray, cool touch sides & 7 browning settings. So, I was so grateful to find this one...yet a little unsure if it could provide all it promises so inexpensively. I have used mine now for a year and still glad I bought it, as it stood up to its promises. I see though, when brought to the page to rate the toaster, this particular unit now offered varies slightly from mine, as I have a warming rack and this model does not. So, I am not 100% sure it will offer the same as the one I have. But the brand is the same and I like what mine can do.

I guess they just don't make them like the used to. I thought by paying a little more than the cheapest toasters available, I'd get one that lasted awhile. Sometimes we used it almost daily but it often sat idle for a week or more, so I don't think it was used all that much.

I am still using the old toaster that I needed to replace because this one takes almost twice as long to toast 2 slices of bread as the old one. It works fine, if you aren’t in a hurry. Looks good and is easy to clean.

Too hot to touch.Someone mention that it was cool to the touch after operation and that has not been my experience.Since it is stainless steel and not coated, the metal sides get extremely hot during and after a toast cycle. The lower portion, about halfway down the side, does remain relatively cool. The upper portion and top edge will absolutely be hot enough to burn if you accidentally touch it while trying to grab toast. Especially in my family where we’re making 2-3 rounds of toast in a row, it becomes a safety issue.The toaster does cool off fairly quickly, a couple minutes after use, since the side panels are thin.Other reviews also mention bagels and wide slots, this doesn’t mean wide sides of bread. It only holds a normal sized slice. It will hold thicker bread and bagels, but there’s no bagel button. That means you’re heating up both sides of the bagel.Overall it toasts well. The metal of the body is thin, which aids cooling, but it does made it feel light and almost flimsy. The raiser doesn’t feel very sturdy either.I’m not sure if I’ll keep it. I think for the price it might not have all the qualities I would want in a product that is low on features.
