Thorogood American Heritage 8” Waterproof Composite Toe Work Boots for Men Made from Premium Leather with Slip-Resistant Wedge Outsole and Comfort Insole; EH Rated

Right out of the box the fit was almost pefect, very lightweight and comfortable with the composite toe. Fresh out the box when new you can see some of the excess brown stain from when they were given there last coat of stain and polished at the factory on the top white trim portion which I thought was really cool and rubbed off after a couple days anyway. The leather materials and quality of construction gave these boots almost a handmade feel like you ordered them from a custom cobbler. I'm back writing this review after a solid year of hard abuse and work that was performed in these boots not to retire these but to order another pair to give my current pair a few days off a week and work in the next pair. I've owned those junk Chinese red wings,Timberland pro's, wolverines and many other work boots in the past and none of them compare to these handmade American quality. Well worth the money and they don't hurt my back walking in them once they are worn in!

I’ve been wearing these boots for years I have them resoled ever year . I clean them and oil them all the time , and get about 6 years out of a pair . Working on heavy construction jobs like hospitals and airports I need good boots and these are the best out there . I’m on my feet 16 hours a day and do from 12,000 to 18,000 steps a day and my feet don’t hurt at all . Yes there a little pricey but my feet don’t hurt at all I’m always dry and warm . It’s money well spent.

Thorogood model 804-4210 WERE my favorite boots. Extremely comfortable, no break in period, long lasting, perfect fit, high quality leather. But leave it to the big corporations to mess up a perfect product.Buying the 8" waterproof boot is now pointless. They cut the tongue on the sides half way down so you lose the 8" of waterproofing. You're getting 6" at best, defeating the purpose.Hopefully Thorogood changes this design back to what it used to be where the tongue was one solid piece all the way to the top of the boot. They lost a loyal customer to Irish setter now.

Right off the bat these boots are awesome! Happy to finally have a waterproof pair of Thorogood boots. My other pair of Thorogoods are The 6" moc toe 804-4200 which I also gladly recommend but it's a bummer cause I can't wear them in rain/snowy weather. Glad I went with the 8" I can stand in some pretty deep puddles and snow and my feet still stay dry. I'm sure through any MA weather these Thorogood boots will keep my feet happy and dry.On a side note,I've owned Chippewas, Carolinas, and for the last couple years I've been wearing Red Wings. To me Thorogood has been the best brand of boot yet. The quality is unlike no other and the price of these USA made boots in un beatable. I did enjoy my red wings but after a few months of working as a pipe fitter they started to wear out fast and become uncomfortable. After one rainy day of work in my water proof Red Wings I had for a few months and my feet were completely soaked I've looked the other way and glad to come across Thorogood.Hoped this review has helped any future buyers, any style of Thorogood you can't go wrong but I certainly do recommend these!

Great boots, but after a month absolutely not comfortable after long days. Soles need replaced.
