Even nice touches like rubber padding on the earpieces. The eyepieces work well as loupes, which is how I usually use them. They have a pretty wide distorted viewing area.The major drawback is that the magnification is too high. Even with the lowest power, the object must be within an inch or so to focus. The others are pretty useless on the eyepieces. You might say that I knew what I was getting with the specified magnification, but the numbers that sellers publish vary wildly. One company's 3X is another company's 10x so you never know for sure until you get them.That there are two eyepieces implies stereo vision, but that's far from truth. There's no way to have an object close enough to focus and where it would be visible to both eyes. The whole thing is excellent as the different sets of lenses have their own containers to protect them from scratches or loss making it easy to pack and carry around with you. It feels quite substantial and doesn't feel flimsy. The led lights are quite bright and the lenses are easily changed if you want to go higher or lower in magnification. For ease of use It can even be used without the earpieces as it has an elasticized , easily adjustable-for-size headband provided .
